Isaiah 40:31-1 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Waiting is one of the most difficult things to do for those who have learned to put their trust in God. Like anyone else that waits, we want what we want now and do not want to wait. But, waiting on God is what He requires of us who have put our hope and trust in Him.
Yes, we all know that waiting is common in life. We wait at traffic lights, we wait at the restaurant, we wait for an appointment, we wait at the restaurant, we wait at the supermarkets, we wait in sickness for our healing, we wait on our paychecks from work, we wait for retirement, we wait, wait and wait.
As much as we hate waiting, this is what God commands of us on today. Waiting on God and His perfect timing gives us hope and allows us to wait with expectation of what is sure to come.
I have learned to view waiting as the road from the promise to the praise.
When Jesus ascended up to heaven, He told his disciples to wait for the "Comforter" to come. They waited in that upper room for 10 days after his resurrection and the Holy Spirit came upon them. Their lives were changed and would never be the same after that encounter. Had they given up and quit, they would have missed a mighty move of God in their lives.
Perhaps you may find yourself on the holding pad called "wait". It may appear that all those you thought loved and cared for you would have come through for you by now, but you find yourself still waiting instead.
Perhaps your current circumstance or situation seems to have appeared to be lingering in God's waiting room for possibly months or even years and you have become weak in your waiting.
Whatever your situation may be on today, know that it is in your time of weakness where the opportunity for your strength through Christ to be manifested in and through you.
Scripture reminds us on today that they those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings as eagles, they shall run and not get weary, they shall run and not faint.
Feeling weak in your waiting? God says to all of us on today what He said to the Apostle Paul in his weakness. Let's listen to 2 Corinthians 12:9a-"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Whatever it is that you are waiting on God for, trust Him on today for He is able to perform everything He promise. He is faithful and just and will do just what he says in His perfect timing.
There is a purpose and plan for your life. You were created for greatness and destiny in a way that only God can perform. Yes, the world has it's limited power in greatness and destiny, but God's plan for you and I surpasses anything imaginable by the human mind.
Jeremiah 29;11- For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Waiting on God to manifest some things in your life? Waiting on God to work out the details of that promise He has given you? As Juanita Bynum said, you and I too must confess, "I don't mind waiting on you Lord because I know you will come".
While you wait, keep serving, keep trusting, keep obeying, keep loving, keep pressing, keep believing and most of all, keep faith alive in the process.
God will do just what He says concerning you, I promise you that. If it does not come to pass, it was not God, but if God said, it , it will be worth the wait because you will see the evidence of it.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
When we choose to wait on God we are saying to God that His view is clearer than ours, His plans for our lives is greater than our plan, He is in charge and not us, His timing is best and perfect, His process is what increases our faith in Him and renews our strength therefore, we will wait on Him.
Waiting is the process of becoming what God wants us to be. What God does in us while we wait is as important as what it is we are waiting for.
Waiting is not a way of escaping trouble, reality or unpleasant situations. Waiting builds up our faith and allows us to be strengthened in our spiritual walk with the Lord in the midst of waiting. Waiting teaches us patients also.
We must wait on God because we do not want to run ahead of Him and miss out on what He has for us. So, while we are waiting, we should be praying, studying His Word, and working diligently in the task that He has currently assigned to our hands.
God is gonna come through on His part, but the question becomes "are we willing to wait to wait on Him"? This is question we all must answer.
As Christians God wants us to trust and depend on Him. As we look unto Him who is the Author and Finisher of our faith, He will give us the strength needed to continue on when we are tempted to give up and quit.
Are you willing to wait on God's timing? Or, have you decided to make things happen on your own?
Our timing brings about nothing but frustration and weakness, but God's timing brings about strength and that which He has promised.
I pray on today that God is your hope and strength in the midst of your wait. He promises to be just that for you while you wait on Him.
Waiting on God proves if you truly trust Him as you claim to.
Remember, they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength and soar like an eagle when the wait is over.
God bless and I love you all.
Tell the Lord thank you for giving you a spirit to wait on Him.
