Ephesians 5:15-16 - See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise men, 16 making the most of the time because the days are evil.
The Apostle Paul exhorts us to take a careful look at how we live our lives.
The focus is to give careful thought to the choices we make before we make them. In other words, we are to look before we leap.
Believe it or not, every decision we make comes with consequences, either good or bad. We often suffer problems, damages or loss because we have not taken the time to ponder the consequences of our choices.
Thinking before we leap and seeking God through His Holy Spirit for guidance and direction helps us to lower our risk of hurting or destroying ourselves and others that are connected to us.
John 14:26-But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.
As I am growing older, I am learning to seek God's guidance in my decision makings because Godly wisdom is what is needed to live the life that God has called me to live in these last and evil days.
True wisdom is found in God alone. As smart or as wise as we think we may be, we are limited as humans in our finite minds. God is infinite.
Here is how wisdom begins according to scripture. Proverbs 9:10- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Apart from Godly wisdom, we tend to make foolish choices and many mistakes. That is why it make sense to seek godly counsel in our decision makings. Psalm 1:1-How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers!
We are living in a time where evil is considered good and good is considered evil in the eyes of the world. Eat, drink, be merry and live according to what is right in your own eyes has become the norm for unbelievers. This is not the way of the wise who confess to know Christ.
Therefore, those who belongs to God need not seek counsel from the world, but seek Godly counsel from God's Word.
As believers, we must take advantage of the time in which we have to witness the Gospel to this lost and dying world. Once the opportunity slips away, we will have it no more.
Once we transition from life to eternity the opportunity to win souls is no longer available to us, that is why it is imperative that we make wise use of our time now and get busy telling others about Christ Gospel, their need for salvation and the 2nd coming of Christ.
The foolishness of what is happening in the world today is the fact that some of what looks normal to a lot of people is actually insane. It is not the will of God for His creation!
Living as wise is responding to the call of salvation in this hour of uncertainty in which we live. The time and opportunity to wisely respond to the Gospel message is now. God is our only guarantee.
If you are operating your life in an unwise manner and lacks Godly wisdom, ask God for His wisdom. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him.
Proverbs 2:6 For the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Walking wise means knowing God, knowing His will for your life and living in obedience to it.
Walking wise with God helps us to know what dangers lies ahead and which ones to avoid.
It is now time to take advantage of the time and opportunities God has given us here on earth to serve Him and win souls for His kingdom. Believe it or not, only what you do for Christ will matter in the end.
1 John 2:17 - And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
To make our life count in eternity with God, we must "NOW" give careful thoughts to how we live as wise and not as fools.
To walk wise is to know God and redeem the time which is at hand. To walk (live) as unwise is to not know God and believe that time on this side is in your own hands to do as you please.
God allots each of us 24 hours in a day. We can use them in a wise manner or we can use them foolishly. The choice is our and the consequences are ours.
We must be very careful with our time for it is limited here on earth, but forever in eternity. We will live forever in eternity and only a few years on earth. Even if we lived 100 years, what are those years in comparison to eternity? Think about it!
Let us make the most of our time by taking advantage of every opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ because the evidence of evil is all around us in various forms.
Remember, time belongs to God and not you nor I. It is He who has numbered our days here on earth. Job 14:5 A person's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.
When your time comes to transition from earth to eternity, how will you have lived your life? As wise or as a fool?
The command today is to live as wise and not as fools.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for divine wisdom that leads us down a path of truth and righteousness with Him.
