Galatians 6:7-Be not deceived. God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.
In this text, the Apostle Paul addresses the deception of the false teachers at the churches in Galatia who are trying to convince the gentile Christians that salvation is not of faith through Christ alone, but also by keeping of the law of Moses and circumcision.
The Apostle Paul warns all of us in this text "be not deceived." Be not lead astray by ourselves or anyone else into thinking that a lie is truth and truth is a lie.
Deceived=exapataó in the greek. To seduce wholly, deceive, to be lead astray.
MOCK-empaizó in the greek. Ridicule, tricked, mocking.
Because of deception, many have been lead to believe that the Gospel is a lie.
Satan deceived eve in the garden into believing that God said one thing when He said another.
Let's listen to how deception entered in at the beginning of creation in Genesis 3:2-5 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Many today are still being deceived into believing the lies of satan and denying the truth of God's Word.
Many have been lead to believe that they can live any way they want to, do what they want to whomever they want, it did not matter if they willfully practice a lifestyle of evil and are wicked in their hearts, all they have to do is trust in their good works and not in Christ by faith and they are on their way to heaven. IT IS A LIE FROM SATAN!! IT IS CALLED DECEPTION!!
The greatest pleasure of the one who deceives is to see that you or I have been convinced that we will not reap the consequences of those things that we do, be it good or evil.
Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and guess what happened? Sin fell upon all of humanity. There is a harvest return on the seeds we sow.
The false teachers that Paul are referencing in this text were examples of such deceived people. Follow outward rituals, some observances and then you would be a Christian.
Scripture declares in Hebrews 11:6-And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Be not deceived into thinking that we can work out our soul salvation. The price for our sins has already been paid by Christ Jesus over 2k years ago. All we have to do is believe it by faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, 9 not of works, so that no one should boast
Deception is real! The sad part about is the fact that many are not even aware of how they are being deceived on a daily basis by satan to believe and operate in his lies instead of God's truth.
The world is filled with people who have been deceived, people who think that the lie is the truth and the truth is the lie. That is why so few people care anything about the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They have been deceived into thinking that the Gospel is the lie.
When one is mocking God, they turn up their nose or sneer at Him. That is what they do when they have been deceived. They sneer and laugh at God. They make fun of God.
As the saints of old used to say, I say to you today, "what goes around comes back around."
In other words, whatever seeds or deeds we sow, we will reap a harvest liken to that seed or deed which we have planted.
Remember the "merry go round" we all used to ride on as kids? Well, it goes around and comes around again. The same with life, what you do, will come back to haunt your or bless you, based on the seeds you have sown.
There is danger in being lead away in our mind to a place of believing and deceiving ourselves into thinking that we can sin and do whatever we want to do and that there would be no consequences.
God is not mocked! To mock God is to disrespect, dishonor, ignore and deny His existence.
There are consequences for ignoring God and willfully choosing sin.
Adam and Eve mocked God in their disobedience by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil when they had been prior warned by God not to do so, therefore, sorrow and death was brought to all humanity because of their decision.
Living by a worldly standard and expecting a Godly result? It won't happen!
The Word of God must be lived out in our lives. Talking one thing and living another? You will reap what you sow!
Man can ignore, disobey, discredit, deny, reject curse, disrespect God and His "Word"all he wants, but there is no exception to God's written Word.
God Himself declares that He changes not for He is the same yesterday today and forever.
In spite of what or whom we choose to believe or believe in, the "WORD" of God stands.
God and His Word are one. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Sowing discord, confusion and division among your fellow men? Trust me, you will reap what you sow for God's Word says (1) be not deceived, (2) God is not mocked, (3) whatever you sow, that you will reap at harvest time.
Merry go round! In other words, what goes around, comes around.
People of God, let what you sow be good seeds that will produce a harvest in the Kingdom of God so that when harvest time comes around, you will have reaped a great and fruitful reward as your return.
Galatians 6:8-Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap corruption; whoever sows to please the spirit, form the spirit will reap eternal life.
Remember, deception is real!
Also, remember the Words of the Lord our God on today. He is not to be mocked for what you sow is what you will reap!
