Psalm 146:3 Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
NLT- Don't put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there.
Where or in whom have you placed your trust in on today? Who or what have you placed over God as priority in your life?
In this text we are told to put not our trust in powerful people nor in man for there is no help there for us. God is our only true source of help!
Man was created by God and He is powerless. According to the Word of God, man lacks the ability to offer the help in which he himself stands in need of.
Yes, man can offer us temporary help, but eternal help comes from God. Therefore, we are to be very careful how we praise creation and not the Creator.
The only One worthy of our praise is the Lord our God. He is the only One who is able to redeem, save and set us free. He is the only one who can allow us to walk out of death row into our eternal destination with Him in heaven for eternity.
We are told in scripture that the life of man is short lived. Here today and gone tomorrow. Therefore, our trust can not be placed in man, nor should we praise man.
James 4:14-Yet you do not know [the least thing] [b]about what may happen in your life tomorrow. [What is secure in your life?] You are merely a vapor [like a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam from a cooking pot] that is visible for a little while and then vanishes [into thin air].
God on the other hand is everlasting. His promises are true and He will do just what He says He will do.
Psalm 118:8-It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in people.
If you want to experience everlasting hope, salvation, God's everlasting presence, God's everlasting power operating in and through you, God's eternal love, then put your trust in Him alone for man is of the dust and of a short time here on earth.
God is from everlasting to everlasting!
Psalm 116:4-Then I called on the name of the LORD: "LORD, save me!"
Call upon the Lord on today for He promises to hear and answer your prayer. He bids you to trust Him enough to call upon Him. Will you do it? He is calling you.
Believe it or not, even at man’s best, we will still experience disappointments, failures, anger and hurt because all promises of man is short lived.
The call today is to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto our own understanding but in all our ways, acknowledge God and He will direct our paths.
Woe to the man who look to man and away from God.
God is declaring to us that regardless of where we find ourselves on today, place our trust in Him alone for His grace is sufficient for us.
God offers us everlasting love, forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ, Redemption, righteousness, divine wisdom, peace that surpasses all understanding, joy unspeakable and on and on.
Most of all, God offers us everlasting life through His Son Jesus Christ by faith Him.
Where is your faith on today? In Whom have you placed your trust?
Who is it that you have purposed in your heart to trust from this day forward?
If not God, you are in for the shock of your life. Or as the young people would say, "you are in for an awakening that will not only seem like a nightmare, but will be one when you transition from earth to eternity trusting in things and other people that had caused you to live your life apart from God and hope in Him alone."
Choosing to trust in man and not God is a hopeless venture that will only leave you empty, helpless, hopeless, forever hungry, forever thirsty and never satisfy.
If you do not believe me look at the world today. People everywhere have more things, money, possessions, titles, degrees and more riches than they have ever had and they are more miserable than they have ever been.
The things that many are still seeking today apart from God in their attempt to find peace and security will NEVER satisfy.
As believers, our citizenship is in heaven. Earth is temporary. It is a place of preparation for eternity.
It is very important that we believe and take serious the words that God is speaking to us on today.
The choices we all are left with on today is“who are we going to believe? Who are we going to trust? Who are we going to follow?”
The world beckons to us in countless ways to put our hope and trust in it and what we see but God becks us to His throne of grace and mercy on this morning for it is where true hope and trust is found.
Trusting God or other people or things is a matter of choice and we alone can and will have to decide which to choose.
The world and all that is in it will one day pass away, including man.
What will eternity look like for you when you have rejected God and His offer of salvation and chose to lived your life in trust, praise and worship to all that is temporary?
Those whose hope is The Lord will not be disappointed!
Remember, The psalmist cautions us against making any man the object of our praise. We are told that man lacks the ability to help, but God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power that works in us.
Where have you placed your trust on today? I pray that it is in the Lord God.
