Jeremiah 33:3-Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.
The Prophet Jeremiah had seen and been through a lot. God had sent him to preach to His people who had been living in willful rebellion and sin against God in their worship of pagan gods from other nations. They were living according to what was right in their own eyes.
Time and time again, God sent messages of warning to His people to turn back to Him and time and time again they turned a deaf ear and refused to repent and turn from their evil ways.
They rejected Jeremiah’s message of repentance from God and continued full speed ahead in what they wanted to do.
In this text, the Prophet Jeremiah is in prison. I am sure as a man of God, he had some thoughts of confusion, uncertainty, despair and pain.
BUT, in the midst of all the chaos and confusion running through his mind, Jeremiah hears from the Lord by way of an invitation to “PRAY”.
God promised Jeremiah that if he calls upon Him, his prayers will be answered and God will show him great and mighty things he does not know. GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!!
This same invitation is ringing loud around the world in every nation. "Call upon the Lord" for God promises that if we call Him "He will answer." Not only has He promised to answer but, He also promised to "show us great and mighty things" which we do not know.
One thing I have learned in life is that is it not so much about our physical posture, but our spiritual posture. Life balls down to the “HEART OF THE MATTER”!
Jeremiah loved God and He loved His rebellious people, even in their rejection of them.
People of God, have you "called on the Lord" lately? Have you took the time to find a quiet place alone with Him and call out to Him? God promises to you and I on today also is that if we "call on Him", He will hear and answer our prayers.
The world is in desperate need of "calling upon the Lord." America is in desperate need of God. There is an urgent need in American for a coming together of the "body of Christ" to "call upon the Lord" for not only does scripture declares that God will hear and answer us and show us mighty things we have never seen, but we are also told in James 5:16b-the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
To the saved and the unsaved, what is your need today? Do you need wisdom and strength for this Christian journey? Are you in need of a closer walk with the Lord in these evil and perilous days in which we live?
Do you want to be saved? Are you in need of a healing for physical or mental illness? Are you in need of direction on how to be a christian parent? Do you need direction on how to raise your children in a society that says the opposite of what God says? Is it your desire to see a loved one saved? Are you in need of a financial blessing to help with the bills? Are you feeling overwhelmed, depressed, hopeless, lonely and abandoned?
Wherever you may find yourself on today mentally, spiritually or physically, whatever state of mind you may find your self in, there is hope and there is help. Why not ask the Lord for help?
One thing I know for sure about God and that is "HIM ABLE"! Yes, He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.
Our God, the Sovereign, True and Living God who spoke peace to Jeremiah in a prison cell, can speak peace to any situation that you may find yourself in on today. The conditions is this: WE MUST CALL UPON HIMI!
There is nothing too hard for our God for scripture declares that He is indeed the God of the impossible. He did it back then, He can do it again today! God changes not for He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
God invites you on today to "Come and call upon His name" for He promises to hear you and show you great and mighty things you do not know.
The question becomes: Do you believe that God is able to do whatever it is that you stand in need of on today in spite of your current situation? Hebrews 11:6- And without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Do you need strength and wisdom? Why not ask God? Are you carrying a burden this morning? Take it to the Lord and leave it there.
Whatever the need or issue may be in your life as your arise this morning, the invitation is to “COME AND CALL” upon the Lord for He promises to hear you, answer you and show you GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS which you do not know.
CALL ON THE LORD TODAY FOR HE IS WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU!
