Luke 2:8-20 And in the same area there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And then an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were very afraid. 10 But the angel said to them, “Listen! Do not fear. For I bring you good news of great joy, which will be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 And this will be a sign to you: You will find the Baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly there was with the angel a company of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, and good will toward men.”
When Jesus was born, God did not use kings, dignitaries or people of importance in society to make the announcement of Jesus birth, but instead He commanded His angels to make Jesus birth announcement to Shepherds who were abiding in the fields tending to their flock in the middle of the night.
Of course the Shepherds were afraid because it was at night, but the angels said to them "fear not"!
Let's listen to the good news that the angels brought to the shepherds that night in vs# 10-11- And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Yes, it was that dark night in the Shepherd's field, that the announcement was made to them that the "Savior of the world" was born."
Not only was there an announcement of the birth, but there was an invitation made to them to go and see the Lamb of God for themselves who would take away the sins of the world.
Does this good news bring joy to your heart on today in knowing that God in the form of His Son Jesus Christ, put on flesh, came to earth dwelt among us and died for our sins in our place?
Do you realize that it is nothing about us that causes us to deserve such "LOVE", but it is only because of God's "GRACE" and His "MERCY" that we are not consumed by the penalty of sin and death?
John 3:16-for God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
If you have accepted God's Gift, "Jesus" as your Lord and Savior, you too have a reason to rejoice and share this "Good News" that our "Savior" has come into the world, being born to die for our sins.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for His Son, Jesus who paid the ultimate price for our sins so that we may live in eternity with Him.
God bless you all.
