Luke 1:46-56 And Mary said:“My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. 48 For He has regarded the low estate of His servant; surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed. 49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.
50 His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He has pulled down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of low degree.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. 54 He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy, 55 as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”[b]
56 Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her own house.
Mary magnifies the Lord her God through song. She proclaims His goodness from the depth of her heart, soul and spirit as she reflects and dwells on His keeping of His covenant promise concerning His people.
Joy overflowing burst from the mouth of Mary as she think on the goodness of God and what He had done for her cousin Elizabeth who was barren.
Mary continues to rejoice and burst inside with overflowing joy as she ponders on how God had showed her favor and blessed her too with the greatest promise and privilege ever given to any woman, as she would be the Mother to the Savior of the world by conception of the Holy Spirit who will overshadow her in making this miracle possible.
Mary, the virgin chosen by God before the foundation of the world to be the mother of His Son, Jesus Christ, who will be the Savior of the world and rule on the throne of David forever.
Oh, the joy of Mary's song can not be expressed, just mention for it is too great to describe jubilant joy and praise that resonate from a heart of faith, gratitude, humility and faith.
Mary is truly a woman of faith. Her examples of humility, servitude, gratitude and submission to the will of God for her life shows not only her gratefulness towards the Lord her God, but her dependability upon Him to do just what He promised to do in and through her.
For all the Lord has done and continues to do in your life on a daily basis, has it caused a song of praise and thanksgiving to burst forth out of your mouth from the depth of your heart and soul? I can only hope and pray that it does.
