Matthew 10:32-33- “Whoever will confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever will deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
Confess=to say the same thing” and then “agree, admit, acknowledge.” To acknowledge sin or to confess or acknowledge someone as something.
In our texual reference, it is to confess Christ, agree that we are sinners and in need of a Savior and acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior in our life.
Confessing that you know Christ or denying that you know Christ? Which describes you?
Today, every man, woman, boy and girl have the option of one of two choices. We can either acknowledge Christ or disown Him. The choice is ours as well as the consequences of our choice.
How does Jesus say we acknowledge or deny Him? We do it before men.
In what ways, we as Christians can acknowledge Jesus in our everyday life? We do it when we take a stand for Christian morals and values, when the bible becomes our standards for living and not the world system, when God receives the glory out of our lives as we daily strive to live in obedience to His Word and in our love towards God and one another in all we do.
When we confess Christ, our action speaks louder than our words.
In what ways can we disown Christ? Through our words, actions and even in our silence.
It is time for the Christians to take a stand concerning Jesus.
Make a personal commitment today to confess and follow Christ. Confess your sins to Him and ask for forgiveness and He will do just that for you.
As believers of Christ, we are to confess by giving God the fruit of our lips. We are not to be ashamed of the Gospel nor be ashamed that we are Christians. We are to admit and confess that ONLY Jesus Christ can save. We are to confess that we trust and believe in God and we take Him at His Word that is written in His bible.
The Apostle Paul makes his confession of Christ in Romans 1:16-For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
I too make my confession that there was a time I knew Jesus but was ashamed to confess Him around certain people. But now that Jesus redeemed me with His blood, I too am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God that brought salvation to me when I was spiritually blind and did not even know it. I was the "walking dead". Dead in trespasses and sin. BUT GOD!!!
Upon the confession of my sins and the confession of my faith in Christ, I was forgiven and you can be forgiven too.
The confession of our faith and the demonstration of our transformed lives should be a light to this dark world that shines and sends forth evidence that Jesus is real and He is alive in us.
Indeed the days are dark in this world in which we live and the Word of God and light of Christ shining in through the Christians is needed more now than ever. Matthew 5:16-Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Perhaps you are one who once confessed Christ and now denies Him. Like Peter, who once denied Jesus three times while he was under pressure and fear of losing his life if he confessed to have been associated with Jesus. But, he repented, came back to Christ and was reconciled back to a personal relationship with Christ.
Judas denied Jesus. His charge was "apostasy." He renounced the faith he once claimed as his own. Sadly, he died in that state by suicide when he hung himself.
If you have once confessed Christ and is now in denial of Him, you too can be reconciled back to Christ by His shed blood through your confession of faith in Him on today. If you confess, God is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins.
If we confess Jesus Christ here, on earth, to all we meet, Jesus said that He will confess us before God in Heaven when we stand before Him.
If you are reading this blog, you are still alive and that means that you still have time to make your "confession" of faith unto the Lord. Salvation is still available to you. I pray that you will do it on today. God is waiting to hear from you while the blood is still running warm in your veins.
Once we transition from earth to eternity, the opportunity to be saved will be no more.
Let us all remember Jesus’ promise to us on today. He will acknowledge those who acknowledge Him and He will disown those who disown him.
What will Jesus do with you? How will He describe you before the Father? As one who confessed Him or denied Him?
What words will be spoken by Jesus on your behalf to His Father?
Confessing Jesus or denying Jesus? Where are you?
God bless you all.
