1 Corinthians 15:22 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
Who are you keeping company with?
The Apostle Paul sends forth a warning here to the Christian believers at Corinth and this same message is ringing out to the world today from God in heaven through me to every one of you who are reading this blog right now.
The Apostle clearly states that there is danger in partnering with people that are corrupt.
He says "Do not be mislead by false teachers. Do not receive advise or partner with those who do not believe the Gospel truth you claim to believe, for bad company will eventually cause your good character to become corrupt.
Wrong teaching, produces wrong thinking and wrong thinking produces wrong behavior. No doubt about it!
Wrong teaching and wrong thinking not only produces wrong behavior, it produces wrong beliefs and wrong standards.
It is impossible to associate regularly with wicked people without being contaminated both by their ideas, their false teachings and by their bad habits.
Therefore, we as Christians must be very careful of the people we partner with, the circles we allow ourselves to be a part of and the thoughts we allow to take root in our minds, regardless of who it is coming from.
Any relationship, friendship, partnership or inner circle of people you are daily "hanging with" that are leading you, persuading you, convincing you to believe, live and act in anyway contrary to the Gospel you confess, must be removed from your life for they are indeed corrupting your mind and your actions.
Anything that is contrary to the word of God MUST be cast down. Scripture declares in 2 Corinthians 10:5-casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Jesus left us a good example. He Loved and care for all, He witness to all, He healed, He served the needs of the people, He taught them, He preached and ministered to all, but His inner circle included only His disciples.
Jesus came to earth to accomplish the mission of dying for the sins of the world. His minds was set on doing the Father's will and He did just that, even though it meant being rejected, persecuted, falsely accused and eventually being put to death which was the reason He came anyway. He was not murdered, He gave up His life!
As believers, our mission is to do the work that Jesus did until He returns.
Jesus was not and is not corrupt! He went about doing good, saving souls and convincing others that He is the way, the truth and the life and that no man comes unto the Father but through Him.
If eternity with God in heaven is your goal, listening to false teachers and practicing corruptive behavior pattern on a daily basis won’t get you there.
A lifestyle of acceptance and behavior of evil and corruptive deeds won’t get you to heaven if you die apart from a personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus by faith.
Who is in your inner circle? Who are you keeping company with? Is your relationship with them causing you to grow stronger in God and the things of God, or is your relationship with them pulling you away from God's truth and causing you to become corrupt just like them?
Galatians 6:7-Be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sow, that he or she will reap.
The Prophet Amos ask this question in Amos 3:3-Do two people walk together, if they have not agreed?
If you are a confessing Christian and partnering with those that are corrupt that means you are in agreement with them. I do not care what your mouth says. Action speaks louder than words!!!
It is impossible to live a life that is unaffected by other people. Good or bad, they will eventually rub off on you if you stay with them long enough.
Check your circle! What is happening in your life? Are you growing stronger in the word of God and avoiding evil or are you getting more bitter and corrupt by the company you keep?
Need to know the standards of behavior for a “Christian”? Check the book! Open God’s bible and you will see all the instructions needed for a life worthy of the calling of God in which we all have been called.
You are either growing in the things of God that are fruitful or you are being torn down by your belief in the corruptive thoughts and behaviors of those you think have your back for the moment.
I want you to know without a doubt that corruptive thoughts, behavior and actions are a choice.
Therefore, make the right choices based on God’s word and not on what seems right in your own eyes. Scripture declares in Proverbs 14:12-There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
The heart is deceitful and no man can trust it. Therefore, trust the Word of God which is infallible. Bad company indeed corrupts good behavior!
Who are you keeping company with? Evil is as evil do!
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for giving you His Holy Bible as a guide for life and living. Therefore, we are without excuse.
