Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived. God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
The Apostle Paul starts off by saying "do not be deceived". In other words, do not be mislead, do not be trapped into wrong thinking by believing that you can trick or deceive God concerning the life you live for our life is a open book before God.
Sowing to the spirit or to the flesh? Everyone of us is sowing to one or the other and everyone of us will reap the harvest of what we have planted in our lives.
What we do today will determine who we become tomorrow.
In speaking of tomorrow, it does not mean the next day on the calendar, it means after a while, over a period of time.
Every choice that we make each day is building on our future.
The fruit which I reap will be consistent with the seed I have sown. I cannot live my life one way and expect to receive a different kind of reward. I cannot walk this earth the way I please and expect God to be pleased in the end.
All of us are daily building on our future by the things we say, do, the life we live, the thoughts we think and act upon, the places we go, the people we associate with, the choices we make, the things we do not do, the places we do not go, the people we do not associate with, the choices we do not make are all a part of building up the person we become.
We all are given the option to either sow to the flesh or to the spirit.
What are you sowing? Is it the Word of God? Is it the love of God? Are you sowing your time, talent, resources in kingdom building? Are you praying for others, are you serving where there is a need? What is it that you are sowing?
Are you sowing to the flesh? Have you become your own God with your own truth? Are you living according to what is right in your own eyes. My will, my way, my opinion, my truth, me, myself and I is what you are sowing? These kind of seeds that are sowed to the flesh will produce a corrupt harvest of destruction and separation in eternity.
If a person plants watermelon seeds, at harvest he gets watermelons. If she or he plant grapes, at harvest he or she gets grape, if she or he plant tomatoes, he or she get tomatoes at harvest time. Got it? The same applies to the seeds of life that we sow on a daily basis in our lives.
Take note to what the Apostle Paul says in vs#8-"For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting life."
Notice that Paul describes only two kinds of sowing. Just as the Bible speaks of the prepared and the unprepared, the wise and the foolish, the obedient and the disobedient, the bible also speaks of those that are spiritually-minded and those that are worldly-minded.
Those who sow to the flesh will reap everlasting destruction; those who sow to the spirit will reap eternal glory.
This text is a warning and a reminder that I must watch what kind of seeds I am sowing and that I should remember that in all I am doing, I am sowing seeds and that I will reap the harvest of the seeds I have sown. Apple for apple and banana for banana, nothing different.
Have you convinced yourselves that you can live your life daily in disobedience, disrespect and rejection of God and His word and reap God's heaven when we die?
You are being deceived and will be in for a rude awakening if you do not have a personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus when you transition from earth to eternity. If this is your mindset, you are indeed being deceived by your master, satan for sure.
Salvation through Christ Jesus alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one should boast.
Do we truly believe that we can sow to the flesh and reap spiritual rewards once we transition from earth to eternity?
Are we blind to the kind of life God requires on this earth in order for us to inherit the kingdom of heaven?
If you are blind, you better get a bible and start reading. Find a bible study of your choosing that teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ and learn what is it is to sow seeds to the spirit and not to the flesh.
BE NOT DECEIVED! This is your warning to seek out truth that can only be found in God's Word.
Let me leave you with this quote. You are free to make the choice, but you are NOT free from the consequences of the seeds you sow.
God bless and heed the warning of the Apostle Paul on today for these words will help save your life.
