Romans 1:16-For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Gospel=euaggelion in the greek and pronounced (yoo-ang-ghel'-ee-on), which means "Good News" of the coming of the Messiah, the “Gospel”.
The “Gospel” is INDEED "Good News." It alone has the power of God in heaven to save humanity from the penalty of sin.
There is no other power and there is no other way. We must come in at the "Door".
Jesus Christ is that door. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The Bible says in Romans 3:23-that all have sinned. This means that we have all offended God and now stand or once stood guilty before Him.
As sinners, we are incapable of removing the guilt of our sinfulness through our own efforts. There is nothing we can do to save ourselves! No, our works are not good enough either. It is only through the power of the "Gospel" that we can be saved.
The only way to escape God's wrath and judgment of our sins is by accepting God's atoning work through Christ Jesus at Calvary as payment for our sins.
Putting our faith and trust in Christ alone is the way. Believing by faith that His death on the cross was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins is the only choice we have in the saving of our souls.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, 9 not of works, so that no one should boast.
The Law is the do’s and don’t’s of moral behavior. We are not made right by what we do. Our righteousness are as "filthy rags" in the eyes of God. We are only considered righteous after salvation through the righteousness of Jesus Christ by faith.
Romans 3:22- This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ[a] to all and upon all who believe, for there is no distinction.
In other words, the righteousness that comes from God, which He gives to those who believe is found in Christ Jesus alone. Apart from His righteousness, there is no power to save us from sin and it's penalties.
Since we are incapable of removing our own sins, God must do it and He did it by putting on flesh and dwelling among men in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ who bore our sins in His body on the cross at Calvary over 2k years ago.
Jesus died in our place, He paid the penalty for our sins that we should have paid and by doing so, He satisfied the law of God the Father by dying on the cross.
It is only through Jesus (Gospel) that we can escape the penalty and wrath of God that will be executed upon all who have sinned against God.
Do you want to be saved from the righteous judgment of God? It can only happen through our believing and accepting by faith the "Gospel" which has the power to save us.
Becoming saved requires a confession on our part. We must admit that we have sinned against God and that we are in need of The Savior.
We must look to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. No human works can be added to what Jesus did on the cross. It is by faith alone in it.
The "Gospel" is the only power unto salvation. This power is released by faith alone to them that believe.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
How is faith received? Romans 10:17-So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The "Gospel"!
The Apostle Paul says in in this text that the "Gospel" is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Salvation is an individual and personal matter. Being a member of the Jewish race will not get you saved, even though the Jews were God’s chosen people. Being an American or a member of a Christian family will not get you saved. You must personally believe in Christ and accept His "Gospel" truth for yourself.
Are you in need of salvation on today? I have some good news for you! God has already provided a way of escape for you by faith through the "Gospel" of Jesus Christ.
Will you accept Him? If you do, He promises to save you. John 6:37-All whom the Fathers gives Me will come to Me, and he who comes to Me I will never cast out.
It is the "Gospel" of Jesus Christ alone that has the power unto salvation. Nothing else can stand beside it or against it for power belongs to God.
