Mark 1:14-15 - After John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the gospel.”
The call from Jesus to mankind everywhere is "repent and believe the Gospel" for the kingdom of God is at hand.
The “Gospel” that Jesus preached means “Good News”. The good news about God’s love for the world that was proven through Christ death on the “Cross.”
The “Good News” that has the power to bring about salvation in the life of us who once lived in sin and rebellion against God or those who still are living in sin and rebellion against God.
Romans 1:16- For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jews, then to the Gentile.
After we have gone our way in life doing what we want, when we want, how we want and where we want to, God is still willing to restore us back to honor in Him.
The prodigal son is biblical proof of the unconditional love God offers to those who have chosen to live a life of sin and decides to come back to Him and live according to His Gospel.
When we by faith through Christ Jesus, accept this “Good News”, confess that we are sinners in need of a Savior, repent with a mind to change, turn from our wicked ways and seek God’s direction for our lives, we become the children of God.
John 1:12 to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believed in His name.
America, God is calling us back to Him and we must do it now and with urgency!!
The call is renounce the evil works of darkness that is running rampant in the world and acknowledge Christ as Lord in our lives.
When we accepted Christ as Lord and Savior in our lives, we are saying to the adversary and to the world that we renounce sin and evil doings.
Repentance- ( metánoia in the greek) means- change in one's way of life resulting from penitence or spiritual conversion; I repent, change my mind, change the inner man (particularly with reference to acceptance of the will of God). To feel sorry that one has done this or that.
Sorrow for sin is a blessing and a necessity on the road to repentance.
When one repents and truly desires a change of the mind and will in order to do the will of God for their lives, being sorrowful, having a (penitent heart), a desire to be changed from a carnal and corrupt lifestyle into a renewed sanctified life in Christ, the Holy Spirit, through conviction of the Word of God, will bring about the change that is necessary and desired.
Genuine repentance pleads with the Lord with a sorrowful heart to be forgiven and delivered from the burden and consequences of sin.
The pathway to repentance does not end with the feeling of remorse and guilt. If a person with a penitent heart is serious about change in their life, action will follow and be proven in the direction and choices one makes from that moment forward.
In other words, after repentance comes action. Action that leads to a prayerful life, a life of study in the Word of God, a life that desires to please God, a life of moral living and a life that knows, understands and applies love for God and love for others.
America, we have drifted away from God’s standards and principles for life and living that is found in His Holy Book called the “Bible”.
We find a warning against drifting in Hebrews 2:1-3 Therefore we should be more attentive to what we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was true, and every sin and disobedience received a just recompense, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation, which was first declared by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him?
How do we turn around and prevent our continuing away from God? Vs. #1 of the text above tell us-“we should be more attentive to what we have heard from God through scripture.
That is why it is important that we read our bibles, pray to the Father in Heaven and walk in obedience to the leading of God's Holy Spirit so that we may know for sure what it is that God expects of us, saved or unsaved for we are all without excuse.
There is a reward for those who choose not to drift away from God in a world where the “wide” road of destruction is getting wider.
The reward for those with a penitent heart who have a made up mind to continue to obey and serve God in spite of satan’s opposition will receive a “Crown of life” at the end of their journey with Christ here on earth.
The Apostle Paul sums up the reward this way in 2 Timothy 4:7-8- I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith. 8 From now on a crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.
There is a bell ringing from heaven to earth. A “Clarion Call” to repentance is being sent for to every city and state in America and around the world.
America, we are being called to humble ourselves under the Mighty Hands of God, pray to Him and seek repentance through Him, turn from our evil and wicked ways and He promises to forgive us of our sins and heal our land.
AMERICA, NOW IS THE ACCPEPTABLE TIME! NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION! NOW IS THE TIME TO SEEK THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND! NOW IS THE TIME TO CALL UPON HIM WHILE HE IS NEAR AMERICA!
The question to be answered from this day forward is “ARE WE WILLING TO REPENT AND TURN BACK TO GOD” as He commands us to do this day?
The choice is ours. Obey God or obey self? Which will it be for you? Both will produce a harvest. One of life everlasting with the Father and one of eternal separation from the Father.
My prayer for my nation on today is that we would ‘REPENT’ and turn back to God.
I look forward to hearing your personal testimony on today of how you obeyed God and repented of your sins against Him and how His Holy Spirit is now leading you into His path of righteousness for his name sake.
