Psalm 91:4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall find protection; His faithfulness shall be your shield and wall.
Sometimes in life it seems as though everything that could go wrong sometimes seems to do just that, but in reality everything that could go wrong doesn’t. It just seems that way under the pressures and stresses of life’s issues and circumstances at the time we are going through them.
I believe if we could get a glimpse of the things that God protects us from each and every hour of the day that could have happened to us without His protection, we would not only see His divine protection but we would also have a greater appreciation and reverence for God and appreciation to Him for what He did not allow to happen to us that could have happened without His protection in our lives.
To people around the world that is looking for a sense of security, the Psalmist sends forth a word of comfort to you on today.
The Psalmist reminds all of us of how great and wondrous is our God. He goes on to declare God’s promise to all of us that our God is a refuge and fortress. Yes, He is our shelter in life’s storms and He will cover us with His feathers for under His wings is a place of refuge.
When the psalmist is in danger or fear of danger, He thinks of God and compares Him metaphorically to that of an “EAGLE” who spreads His wings wide open as a place of shelter where his baby chicks (you and I) can run to and be assured of a place of protection from hurt, harm and danger.
As His wings spread wide open (his invitational call to salvation) He is signaling to us that it is in Him where the protection we desperately stand in need of now and in eternity is found in Him alone.
Therefore, we must not take the risk of being a prey to danger, but run quickly to Him for He is able and willing to shelter and safely keep us under His wings where no man can pluck us from.
God’s wide stretched out wings sends forth a safety signal that reminds us that we can run to Him and be safe, for He is able to fly high above all danger.
One thing we need to understand is that being sheltered by God does not mean that we won’t be hurt or persecuted by others.
We may get bruise and battered from time to time on this Christian journey by the stormy seas, raging winds and high tides of life, but our eternal security with God is safe.
Those great wings of God’s have never collapsed, they will never desert us for they are promised to always be there for us to run to when we are in need of shelter.
It is not that we won’t be tempted or go thru troubles in life, but that God promises to be with us in them. God and His Word are our sense of security in this insecure world.
God promises to cover us with His feathers and under His wings we will find refuge.
Remember, this security is in God and not in ourselves. Our security must be in God and His promises to us as His people.
Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.”
This promise to be sheltered by God is for those who are His. Those who have been redeemed by faith.
The question to be answered on today is “Who is Jesus to you?” Is He your Savior? If He is, you can boldly proclaim that He is your refuge and your fortress.
The truth that I want to leave you with today is the promise of God that if you belong to Him, He promises to cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall find protection; His faithfulness shall be your shield and wall.
Are you in need of a hiding place on today? God is it!
It is under the shadow of His Almighty Wings where you can run and find shelter.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being a shelter in the storms of life.
