Psalm 34:14-Turn away from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
God, in His divine wisdom often gives us simple words that are used as a direction in which we are to take our lives or steer away from in our lives.
Evil is one of those directions in which we all are called away from on today. We are being called to depart from it!
Every day we are faced with choices and the choice we make is based on what we believe about God.
There is no way that we could allow ourselves to be deceived into believing that God will not punish evil when we daily continue to act, speak and live a life of evil doings in our relationship with our fellowmen on a daily basis.
The pain and consequences of evil is seen throughout our world today and the sad news is that many are comfortable with it and have accepted it as a normal way of life.
Proverbs 14:12-There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end therefore are the ways of death. Death from willful sin that leads to eternal separation from God.
Proverbs 3:7-do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Proverbs 4:15-avoid evil, do not pass by it; turn away from it and pass on.
The call today is to turn, depart from every form of evil sayings and doings and desire a peaceful relationship with God, your fellowmen and with yourself.
When we have purpose in our heart through conviction of the Holy Spirit to turn away from evil and pursue what is good and peaceful, we will be that light that God has called us to be in the earth so that men would be able to see His good works in us and He would receive the glory out of our lives.
Yes, it is by our love for one another and not evil and hate that the world knows we belong to God.
If you are one who willfully pursue evil and the desire of your heart is to hurt or destroy others, God is speaking to you on today. He is calling you to (1) turn away from evil (2) do good, (3) seek peace and pursue it with a pure heart that has been regenerated and washed by the Word of God.
If evil deeds and words have been a part of your daily life, I pray that you seek God with these words that are found in Psalm 51:10-Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
When you have truly been redeemed and your mind has been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God your desire and pursuit will be that of good and not of evil.
When you have truly been changed, your prayer and your cry to the Lord during your time of temptation to go back to evil would be Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
When one is willfully evil against a child of God, you are not evil to them, you are being evil to God because they belong to Him.
When David sinned against God he took ownership of his sin and we must do the same. Let's listen to Psalm 51:4-Against You, and You alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight Lord. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.
When you find yourself in the midst of a situation that you know there is something not right going on or about to go on, immediately stop, think, and pray for when you do, God will give you a way of escape from it.
1 Corinthians 10:13-The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.
The choices we all are left to daily make is to live a life of evil or a life that is in constant pursuit of what is good and peaceful in the eyes of God and not man.
Proverbs 16:6 tells us “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”
Which have you chosen to do from this day forward? How have you chosen to live your life? In continual pursuit of evil or in continual pursuit of what is good and peaceful to all you encounter?
Know this with assurety, your willful desire and pursuit to be and do evil to others will not go unpunished by God.
Yes, scripture declares in Galatians 6:7-God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sow, that shall he reap.
Psalm 94:23-God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The LORD our God WILL destroy them.
Ponder these questions daily and daily ask God to search your heart concerning them so that you too may do what is good, seek peace and purse it with your whole heart.
