Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water; He turns it to any place He will.
In this text, the heart of the king is described as a water stream that the Lord our God controls. It is God who directs the flow of man’s heart wherever He pleases.
Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
The heart of every king, good or evil, every man, woman, boy or girl is fully known by God.
The point that the writer of this text is trying to drive home to all of us on today is the fact that God is all knowing. Nothing is hidden from Him!
Psalm 139:1-2 O Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far off.
Believing that God is all knowing may be a hard pill for many of you to swallow based on what you see happening in the world and in some of our homes, families, etc.
Nothing happens without God's knowledge or His permission. Why God allows what He allows in the earth? He alone knows that, but I do believe that He has a purpose in why He allows it.
God turns the world around daily, He directs all the world affairs as He pleases. He allows whatever He wants to happen for His purpose.
Remember Job? Permission had to be sought from God for satan to attack him. What is my point? God is in control!!
As crazy as this world may seem that we now live in, God is still in control. He is ruler over it and in control over every aspect of life, including you and I.
What the writer of this text is trying to get all of us to understand is that "God rules over man." Yes, Almighty God has total rule over the heart of men, including kings.
God over rules all the plans of earthly rulers, be righteous or wicked, for the accomplishment of His will.
Fearful about the future of our nation? Fear not! Only believe and trust God.
Proverbs 21:2- Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD examines their heart.
Remember Pharaoh? The bible declares that the Lord harden his heart against God's People Israel and it was the Lord that freed them out of Egyptian bondage too.
Proverbs 13:1-2 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
People of God, let us daily make prayers of intercession on behalf of our leaders, kings and those that are in authority, knowing that God can and does direct their hearts and decisions.
Nothing is too hard for our God. He is in control of every situation, every struggle, every problem, every hard place. Put it in His hands!
Our God is the Sovereign God! He is bigger than any and everything! He is supreme in authority, power and might. All Sufficient God!
Be encouraged on today for the Lord God is still at the steering wheel of every one of our lives, every affairs of life, every thought of the heart, regardless of status or position.
Remember this: At the end of the day, Proverbs 21:1- “the king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He (God) turns it wherever he wishes.”
My point on today is this: GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL. LOOK NOT AT WHAT YOU SEE BUT LOOK AT, READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT THE WORD OF GOD SAYS.
It is the Word of God that is final authority in the earth. God's Word SHALL do what He sends it to accomplish.
