Psalm 63:1-5 O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh faints for You, in a dry and thirsty land with no water.
2 I have seen You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. 3 Because Your loving kindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.
4 Thus will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5 My soul will be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips.
There is something about seeking God's presence early in the stillness of the morning. That is the time when our minds and hearts are the clearest.
The Psalmist declares that "early" will he seek the Lord for when he thinks on the Lord, his soul thirst and his desire to find God is like one that that is thirsty for water. A place of desperate seeking God or else one would eventually die.
The Psalmist has had past experiences with God for He says "i have seen you in the Sanctuary in power and glory" and because of who God is, he will continually to praise God with the fruit of his lips.
Praise is what the Psalmist declares to do concerning the Lord his God. How about you? Scripture declares "let everything that has breath praise the Lord"
Is it your desire to seek God on today as a deer that pants after the water brook? Is your seeking God a matter of life or death for you? Well, seek Him with all that is in you. Seek Him with our whole being for indeed that is the place where you will find Him.
Scripture declares that he or she who seek the Lord with their whole heart will find Him.
Let today be the day that you declare "praise is what I do" when you think on God and how He has been good to you over the years in spite of you.
