Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me.”
Who was the Prophet Isaiah? Isaiah was a descendant of the royal house of Judah and Tamar. The son of Amoz who was the brother of King Amaziah of Judah.
The name Isaiah יְשַׁעְיָהוּ (Yesha'yahu) meaning"YAHWEH is salvation".
Isaiah was also a Hebrew, old testament testament Prophet who was born in Jerusalem, Israel. He received his commission as a Prophet when he saw a vision of God in the temple, the year King Uzziah died.
Isaiah's message was one of "salvation." He prophesied the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ through the virgin birth.
Isaiah was inspired by God to write the old testament book of Isaiah which contains 66 chapters. This book is a message of "SALVATION". There is also 66 books of the bible. HUMMMM!
During this time in Israel's history, the people were stable financially, unstable morally, corrupt and spiritually bankrupt!
Does Israel's condition then sound like our world in which we live in today? No doubt about it! Read Isaiah chapters 1-5 to see the condition of God's people during this time in history.
God's people had forsaken the true and living God to follow after gods of other nations, the poor was being oppressed by the rich, people were eating, drinking and being merry, fornication, adultery, living in rebellion and disobedience to God. This pattern of behavior was among all of God's people, including the spiritual leaders who should have been examples.
King Uzziah death had caused hopelessness and despair among God's people. God now sees the opportunity to deliver His message of "salvation" through the coming of the Messiah, His Son, Jesus Christ.
King Uzziah had reign for 52 years from the age of 16 and He was now dead. Uzziah was the only king Isaiah knew until he entered the temple one day in the year that King Uzziah died.
It was that day in the year King Uzziah died that Isaiah sees in a vision, the true King who was not dead but yet alive.
Having been allowed to see God in a vision, Isaiah now put things into perspective. Isaiah now proclaims these profound words in vs#1-In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.
Isaiah's earthly King has died, but the everlasting King was still yet alive, sitting high and lifted up on His throne. The earthly king had to die for Isaiah to see the everlasting King. Good God Almighty!!!
What is blocking your view from seeing King Jesus?
Having seen the Lord in a vision in the temple, Isaiah describes his vision and declares the glory of the Everlasting king in this way in Vs#2-3 Above it (God's throne) stood the seraphim. Each one had six wings. With two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 One cried to another and said:“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of Hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.”
In a time of hopelessness and despair God gives Isaiah a vision of His majesty, glory and power and Isaiah was no longer the same.
As Pastor Shirley Caesar says "there is no way we can encounter Jesus and remain the same". It does not matter if you are the chief of sinners, Jesus can transform you! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!
Isaiah's encounter with the Lord our God not only changed who he was but it also had brought about a confession of his sins when he said in vs#5-Woe is me! For I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips.
Having confessed his sins, God now moves to purification of his lips from the tongs that was taken from the altar to purge his sins. Isaiah is now ready to hear from God. He is now ready to hear "What thus says the Lord"!
When God asked "whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Without hesitation, Isaiah said "here am I Lord, send me"!
God is still asking this question today"whom shall I send and who will go for us?" In other words, God is asking "who is willing to be my volunteer"? I am in need of many throughout the world. Who will go? Who shall I send?
Who will go for the Lord? Who is willing to be God's mouth piece in the earth? Will it be you or will it be you?
God is calling volunteers to work in heaven's earthly vineyard called the world. Have you heard Him calling you by name?
If there ever was a time for a one on one COMMITMENT to a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Christ Jesus, the time is now. Like the Saints of old would say "Lord knows, we need Jesus like never before."
People everywhere is hurting, wounded, confused, depressed, fearful, full of uncertainty and lots of questions and desperate for answers, healing and most of all the peace that only God can offer through Christ.
Now is the acceptable time! Today is the day of salvation!
One of the greatest needs of our day is spirit filled men and women who are willing to carry the torch of Christ Gospel to this dying world.
God is seeking spirit filed men and women who are willing to work in His vineyard. Let's listen to what He said to His disciples then and is saying to all of us on today these words that are found in Matthew 9:37-The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
In other words, there are so many souls that need to be saved, but very few volunteers who are willing to help bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the teaching of the Gospel of Christ.
Many souls are crying out to God saying "I NEED YOU NOW."
God does his work in the earth through man. The cry for volunteers in the Kindgom is being heard around the world.
My question to all of you readers on today is "are you willing as Isaiah was in volunteering to say "Lord, here I am, send me?
Is this your response to God's call and need for workers in His vineyard? The harvest is indeed plentiful. Look around you people of God. There is people hurting and wounded everywhere that does not know Jesus for the pardon of their sins. Some of them live in our homes, work with us, our family members, neighbors, spouses, children, parents, church brothers and sisters, etc.
People everywhere need Jesus!! The question is "are you a willing vessel that God has use to VOLUNTEER" for sake of pointing people to the saving grace of Christ?
Here am I Lord! Send me! is this your heartfelt response to the Lord?
People of God, the Lord is speaking in this hour! He is calling all "VOLUNTEERS" to put on the whole armor of God because the days are evil, the battles are real and it is time to get the Gospel to all the nations.
What is your response to the Lord's call for Volunteers in the Kingdom?
How will you answer God's call for Kingdom Volunteers? HOW WILL YOU RESPOND?
How will I respond? I have responded and my reply is "here I am Lord, send me!"
The vineyard is in desperate need of workers! Where are they?
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
LORD, WE NEED YOU NOW! SEND FORTH YOUR LABORERS.
God bless.
