Isaiah 40:29-He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
WEARY=ekkakeó in the greek and is defined as am faint, am weary. To fall in heart, to be weak.
FAINT=ekluó in the greek and is defined as to loose, release, to grow weary, to loose, release, to grow weary.
This text reminds ALL of us on today of who we are as human clay.
Yes, as God's people, because of our human nature, life's experiences, circumstances, unexpected struggles, tragedies, sickness, setbacks, traps of the enemy, trials, test and temptations of life appears to be continuously, fierce and tiresome at times, we often find ourselves feeling that the strength we have gained in prayer, praise, worship and study of God's Word is often zapped right out of us.
The good news on today is that even in the midst of being attacked with feelings of weariness, weakness and strengthless at times, the Word of God strengthens us once again with these comforting words in our text which declares that the Lord our God gives strength to those who are faint and weak.
In other words, our God is our strength when we are weak. Yes, the Lord our God is able to renew us with the much needed strength we stand in need of today and everyday.
2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Are you weary and feeling faint to the point of wanting to give up on today? Is all the chaos of everyday life and the cares of this world have you feeling as though there is no need to continue to fight the good fight of faith? If you answered yes, there is hope and strength for your weary soul on today that is found in Christ Jesus alone.
People of God, even in the struggles of life, we can daily live victorious with Christ Jesus who lives within us through His Holy Spirit. It is through Christ that we have the victory for He has overcome the world.
1 Corinthians 15:57-But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are reminded in scripture that we can soar like an eagle. Let's listen to Isaiah 40:31-but those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.
People of God, keep trusting God, keep believing His written Word, keep the faith, keep looking unto the hills from whence comes your help, keep Jesus in view and we too will soar like an eagle, even in the hardest of times for the Lord our God is every present with us. He promises us that He will be and we can rest right there in knowing that even in the times of weakness, He is right there being our strength to carry us through.
People of God, even in the struggles of life, let us set our hope on the Lord for He alone is the one who can strengthen us.
The Lord our God IS our strength in our weakness! It is Him that increases our strength. NEVER DOUBT THIS!
There is none like our God!
In the words of my Pastor, Rev. Dr. Isaac J. Holt, Jr., "HIM ABLE"!
