Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, righteously, and in godliness in this present world.
God's grace and mercy has not only been revealed to humanity through Christ Jesus, but it was sent and made available to all who would believe. Mark 9:23-Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
If we could only believe in what God has done for us, the power and chains of sin that has you bound could be loose even on today by hearing the "Good News" called the "Gospel" and by believing in God's atoning work on your behalf at the Cross.
Yes, the way of escape from the penalty of sin and death was made possible over 2k years ago when God Himself put on flesh in the form of Jesus Christ, came to earth as a baby born of a virgin, lived among us as an example for us, died on a wooden cross on a hill called "Golgotha", Calvary's Hill and was resurrected 3 days later all for you and I.
John 1:14-The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Acts 4:12-There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Jesus is He! There is no other name!
Salvation has come and has been revealed for all eyes to see! He came to live and then die to pay the penalty for sin which we ourselves could not pay. Romans 5:8- But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The good news on today is that none of us is beyond God's reach. I do not care how far you have laid or wallowed in sin, God is able to save you and He has made the way available for you to be saved through Christ.
When you and I accept Jesus Christ as our "Savior", the Holy Spirit comes to live within us and through prayer, meditation and study of God's Word along with faith and application of that Word in our lives, we are daily motivated in our hearts and mind to want to please God and no longer self.
The process of thinking like Christ begins when we daily submit and surrender to the will of God in our lives and His authority over our lives. It is when this happens is when the mind of Christ daily becomes evident in our lives. Philippians 2:5-Let this mind be in you all, which was also in Christ Jesus.
It is God's Holy Spirit that leads, guides and directs us into all truth and righteousness.
When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct our paths we find ourselves daily denying ourselves and taking up our cross and following Christ as He commanded us to do in LUke 9;23-Then He said to them all, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
Not only does the Holy Spirit that lives within us helps us deny ourselves, He also helps us say no to ungodly lifestyles and worldly desires. Yes, the Spirit of Christ within us helps us to liver soberly, righteously and godly in a sinful world that says eat, drink, be merry, live today and everyday as you please.
In a world where all the pleasures of this world will one day be no more, God has presented the opportunity for ALL of us to be "SAVED" and set free from sin and eternal separation from Him.
JUST FOR YOU! YES, JESUS CAME AND DIED IT JUST FOR YOU!
Jesus came and revealed Himself just for you and me.
Yes, He did it just for you! Say this to yourself over and over again. Just for me!
The question to be answered on today is what will you do with this 'GIFT" called "JESUS"? What does the cross means to you?
What will you do with Jesus? He has done His part in coming to save you from your sins. What is your response?
My prayer in this season in which we celebrate the birth of "Christ Jesus", our Risen Savior is that you will unwrap the "GIFT OF SALVATION" that has been revealed and made available to ALL who would just believe.
Thank You Lord!
