Luke 2:17 When they had seen Him, they made widely known the word which was told them concerning this Child.
Today is the day of proclamation! The day to proclaim what you have seen written in scripture concerning the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what you heard the Holy Spirit revealed to you about Him as you read the story.
People of God, you have a story to tell.
We are told in this text that when the Shepherds were visited by the heavenly host of angels in the field that night, they were told the "GOOD NEWS" of the Savior's birth. After having seen the "Child" for themselves, they began to proclaim all that had been told them by the Angels concerning the "CHILD".
People of God, what have you been told about Jesus in the Word of God called the bible? What was revealed to you by God's Holy Spirit while you were reading it? What have you done with what you have seen and heard spoken to you in God's Word?
The Shepherds told everyone they met, what they had seen and heard.
Between the old and new testaments, it was about a 400 year period of silence. No spoken word from God, then we come to the new testament and we find God speaking again through Angels to the Shepherds who were tending their flocks by night.
Today is the day to share the "good news" that old testament prophecy has been fulfilled and revealed through Christ Jesus while it is still fresh in your hearts and minds.
The angels and the shepherds proclaimed victory on behalf of every sinner in the world, including me and you that "Salvation" has come to all people of the world!
