Proverbs 3:18-She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her and happy is everyone who retains her.
God's Word declares that "Wisdom" is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
The wisdom of God is the highest "Wisdom" man can attain. God alone is the all wise and all knowing, Sovereign God.
Isaiah 40:28-Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding.
Romans 11:33-O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable are His ways!
One of the ways that King Solomon describes God’s "Wisdom" is that he says “it is liken unto a tree for those who take hold of her.”
King Solomon goes on to say that “happy or blessed” is everyone who retains (possess) her.
How do we obtain or possess "Godly Wisdom" and understanding? James 1:5-If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Proverbs 9:10-The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
King Solomon, one of the wisest kings ever lived was given the task of leading God's people after his Father, David died.
Solomon, now appointed King over God's people, knew that he did not have the "Wisdom and knowledge" needed to lead God's people, therefore, he humbled himself under the mighty hands of God and requested help from God in leading God's people the way God would have them to be lead them.
Solomon knew that in and of himself, he was incapable of performing his leadership role over this mass of people on his own apart from God. In other word, Solomon knew he needed God's help and he seek for God for it.
When Solomon was appointed King, God visited him and asked him in 2 Chronicles 1:7-12 -what I might give to you.”8 Then Solomon said to God, “You have given a great mercy to David my father and have made me king in his place. 9 Now, Lord God, may Your word to David my father be confirmed, for You have made me king over a people numerous as the dust of the earth. 10 Now give wisdom and knowledge to me so that I might know how to go before this people, for who can judge this great people of Yours?”
11 Then God responded to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart and you did not ask for possessions, wealth, and honor, or even the life of those who hate you, nor have you asked for many days of life, but you have asked Me for wisdom and knowledge that you might govern My people over whom I have made you king, 12 wisdom and knowledge are now given to you. Possessions, wealth, and honor I will also give to you; such has not been given to kings before you nor those who will follow after you.”
WOW!!! LOOK AT GOD!
Look at what our God is able to do when he humble ourselves before Him and admit that we need His help.
We may not get a “Solomon” blessing, but we can get the same “divine wisdom” for every circumstance or situations we encounter in life if we would only humble ourselves and seek the Lord’s guidance.
As humans, we are limited in our ability. There are some things God will allow us to do in our own strength just to show us our need for Him and then there are some thing that God will show us that we can only accomplish through Him.
We are reminded throughout scripture to be not wise in our own eyes. Proverbs 3:7-Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
Proverbs 8:11- For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it.
In other words, no precious jewels or earthly treasures are worthy to be compared with true “Wisdom.”
Do you stand in need of “Divine Wisdom” on today? Seek God for He will freely give it to you.
If you have been deceived into believing that you are wise in your own eyes and you do not need God’s “Wisdom”, God has provided you with some helpful information in Proverbs 1:7 Respect and obey the Lord! This is the beginning of knowledge. ONLY A FOOL REJECTS WISDOM AND GOOD ADVICE.
Seek and pursue God’s divine “Wisdom” on today for you will be happy that you did.
