Psalm 150:1-6 -Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power! 2 Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the lyre and harp! 4 Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing; praise Him with stringed instruments and flute. 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; praise Him with the clanging cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
"Praise God" is the command today to the people of God. Praise must be a priority in our live if we claim to belong to God.
There is "POWER" in praise unto our God. It is praise that not only awakens the spirit of God within us, but it also ushers us into worship unto our God.
The Psalmist of this text tells us who to praise, where to praise, why we shouldpraise and of course, how we should praise.
Where should we praise? In the Sanctuary, which is known as the Lord's house. Yes, we can praise God in our homes, cars, or just about anywhere, but the call today is to do it in "Sanctuary".
Indeed, the coming together of of the people of God in praise and worship is an experience like no other. It is indescribable!
Why should we praise God in the Sanctuary? We should do it because of His mighty acts of love and kindness towards us and because of His "Greatness" in majesty, dominion and power.
How should we offer up praises unto our God? We offer up praises to our God with the sounds of the trumpet, with the lyre and the harp, with thetambourine and dancing, with stringed instruments and flute, with loud cymbals and with the clanging cymbals.
With these praise instruments and God's people all together on one accord, there could be nothing but a Holy Spirit, fire filled party in the "Sanctuary" as we celebrate, honor, reverence and lift up holy hands in praise and worship to our God.
In celebration of what God had done for David and His people Israel, David danced before the Lord.
To our God, in the "Sanctuary" with sounds of instruments, we too are called to give God the praise with all our might. David is our example of what true praise unto God looks like.
People of God, "PRAISE YE THE LORD"! LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH, PRAISE THE LORD.
