Psalm 78:1-4 Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth. 2 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter insightful sayings of old, 3 which we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children but will tell the coming generation the praises of the Lord, and His strength, and the wonderful works that He has done. .
God is speaking. Are you listening? Are you sharing with the next generation what the Lord has spoken to you through His Word?
Remember what God told Moses concerning the sharing of His Word to his generation?
Let's listen to God speak in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God. The Lord is one! 5 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
6 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Now is the time to make listening to what the Lord is saying a priority and them sharing it with the children that are either under our care or those that we may have an opportunity to witness to about the goodness of God.
Children need to know that it is the Lord God who has done these wonderful things in our life and their's.
Who else is better to share the "Good News" with than the younger generation for they too will one day be responsible for telling the next generation.
People of God, we have a responsibility to God in teaching and training our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Tell them about Jesus!!! Tell them about the goodness of the Lord!!!
Proverbs 22:6-Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Will they stray? Possibly! But, they will eventually come back for the seed has already been planted.
God not only calls us to “hear” but he also commands us to “share.”
Are you daily sharing what God has revealed to you through His Word to the next generation?
