Romans 1:16- For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
"Gospel"=euaggelion in the greek. Good news of the coming of the Messiah, the Gospel.
"Power" is dunamis in the greek. It means might, force, energy and strength that is in God alone.
The Gospel is the only "Good News" that is truly worth sharing. When life and living down here is over, it is either the acceptance or the rejection of the Gospel is what will matter at the end of life on earth for all of us.
The Apostle Paul said he was not ashamed of the Gospel. Why? He is not ashamed for the "Gospel" is the power of God that saves everyone that believes it from the penalty of sin and eternal separation from God.
When a person believes and by faith accept the "Gospel" truth as their own personal message, it releases the power of God into their life immediately. This power is God's Holy Spirit.
Romans 10:9-13 9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Apostle Paul tells us that the Gospel is the "power of God" that is able to change lives, therefore because of how it changed his, he is not ashamed of it, but proud to be able to proclaim and declare every word of it.
When we get saved, the Holy Spirit immediately comes and live within us. 1 Corinthians 3:16-Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
Preaching and teaching the Gospel is not popular in our world today.
Understand this, that if you choose to follow Jesus by faith, you will be ridicule, persecuted, rejected, talked about or even looked upon as an outcast among many in the world in which we live that does not know God.
The good new is that our "SOUL" is worth more than man's opinion of us. Choose ye this day whom you will serve. God or man?
The transforming power of the Gospel in the life of a sinner is evident.
Shirley Caesar puts it this way "there is no way you can have an encounter with Jesus and remain the same"! It is impossible!!!
By God's grace through faith, the power to have our lives transformed into a new creature in Christ is not only possible, but also available through a personal relationship with Christ.
What does the Gospel has the power to do? Save sinners. It saved me one day in the back yard of my home in April 1998 and I confess that I am no longer the same. Changing into the image of Christ daily.
How does the Gospel save sinners? Through faith. Scripture declares in Hebrews 11:6- And without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, 9 not of works, so that no one should boast.
Hearing the Gospel is good, but responding to the Gospel by faith is everlasting.
The "Gospel" has been is and is still being taught and preached around the world.
How have you responded to the "Gospel?" Or, should I say "have you responded to the Gospel by faith?" The Gospel is the only power that has the ability to save you. The power to take you off of spiritual death row and allow you to enter eternity with God.
There are many so called "Gospel" messages being preached today, but there is only one true Gospel and that is the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!
As the Apostle Paul asked the churches at Galatia, I ask you the same question. Galatians 3:1-O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.
Galatians 1:9-As we said before, so I say now again: If anyone preaches any other gospel to you than the one you have received, let him be accursed.
"NOW" is the time to respond to the Gospel or the "good news" of Jesus Christ by faith for it is the "Gospel" alone that is God's Power that has the ability to transform, regenerate, redeem and make new, the sin sick soul of humanity.
What will you now do with what you know to be true concerning the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Ignoring what you have heard or rejecting what you have heard concerning the Gospel will not work for you for scripture declares this concerning you in Hebrews 10:26-27-if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.
All of us are either friends or enemies of God. Which are you?
How we respond to the "Gospel" determines whose side we are on. Remember, no response is really a response.
The "Good News", The "Gospel" of Jesus Christ! How will you respond?
