Genesis 3:12-13 The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”
13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What have you done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
We all know the story of our first parents, Adam and Eve and how sin entered into the world. Yes, they started what is known today as the "blame game" because they did not want to take responsibility for their disobedience to God.
Adam and Eve had been in the garden naked and unaware of their nakedness until sin entered in after they ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that God had commanded them not to eat from.
Hearing God in the garden in the cool of the day, Adam and Eve hid themselves.
God called out Adam and said "where are you? Adam replies to God with these words in vs#10-12-He said, “I heard Your voice in the garden and was afraid because I was naked, so I hid myself.” 11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”
Adam responds to God with the words of blame in vs#12 The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”
The same with Eve, she has someone to blame too. Let's listen to her response to God in vs#13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What have you done?”And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Who are you blaming for your sin problems? Who in your family or your relationship is suffering the consequences of your sinful choices? Is it your spouse, your children, your marriage, your parents, etc.?
Who or what is it in your life that is suffering because you continue to make the choice of willful sin over and over again blame others for it?
Blaming others for our problems? Well, at one point or another, we all have done it and are still doing it today because that is what our first parents did and it is what has been passed on to us from them genetically. Yes, Adam and Eva DNA is in all of us, therefore we do what they did in blaming others.
Today, in families around the world, the "blame game" is still being played. No family is exempt from the problems that sin causes in our lives.
Adam and Eve did not lie to God about what they did, they just did not take responsibility for it. They wanted to appear as the victim of someone else and ignore their need to acknowledge their disobedience to God.
Believe it or not, but God can heal us from the blame game.
To be healed, we must admit that we are sinners in need of a "Savior." We must acknowledge and accept responsibility for our sins. We must admit that we can not fix ourselves and that we need God's help.
If we are willing to admit, confess and take responsibility for our sins, God's grace is sufficient for us and is able to cleanse us from all of our unrighteousness and we can begin a new life in Him through Christ Jesus.
Sin produces disobedience, but, the Word of God produces "Salvation."
Yes, we can be forgiven, "Redeemed" restored and made new by God through the renewing of our mind by the washing of it with the Word of God.
NONE OF US ARE BEYOND GOD'S REACH!
1 John 1:9-If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The good news on today is that we no longer have to play the "blame game".
Over 2k years ago, God made "GRACE" available to all of us at the Cross. Yes, it is at the cross where Jesus shed His blood to take away the sins of the world. It is at the cross where God's amazing "GRACE" awaits all of us.
Our God is able to take the hopeless and raise them up in hope.
Today is the day to rid ourselves of the "victim" mindset and God offers to do it for us at no cost for the price has already been paid by Jesus.
If you want to blame someone, blame Jesus for taking on ALL of our sins and remembering them no more once we by faith accept God's atoning work that was done on our behalf at the cross.
Are you in need of God's "GRACE" and mercy on today? We all are.
GUESS WHAT? Salvation is a free gift. It is God's amazing "GRACE" that is yours and mine for the taking.
The blame Game! Put it behind you starting today and move forward into the newness of life that is yours through Christ.
Remember when there appears to be no hope from the blame game, there is "GRACE"!
