Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore, I say to you, take no thought about your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they? 27 Who among you by taking thought can add a cubit[a] to his stature?
28 “Why take thought about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: They neither work, nor do they spin. 29 Yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.30 Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is here and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore, take no thought, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 (For the Gentiles seek after all these things.) For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you.34 Therefore, take no thought about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take thought about the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the trouble thereof.
In a world full of chaos and confusion, wars, rumor of wars, uncertainties, fear, anxiety and troubles, the opportunity to worry is increasing daily at an alarming rate.
The call from God to His people on today is "take no thought" about tomorrow but pray, trust and believe for worry adds nothing and only takes away from today.
If we belong to God, He promises to take care of us. He reminds us of how he daily takes care of the "fowl" of the air (birds) who does not sow nor reap and yet He provides for them. Shall He not provide for us who are greater than the birds?
When we worry, Jesus describes us as people of "little faith." Proverbs 3:5-6 -Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
To be honest, most of the things that we worry about don't even happen.
Worry not, but, cast (throw off) our cares on the Lord and pray for He cares for us.
Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
People of God, even in the midst of pain and suffering, we have to still tell God "THANK YOU" for not allowing the enemy to do what he had set out to do against us.
Do not allow the enemy of your mind to take you on a ride down the road of "worry" about the cares of tomorrow on today.
Worry is overcome by faith, prayer, the Word of God and thanksgiving.
