John 14:27-7 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
PEACE- “tranquility, harmony, or security.” Depending on the situation, it could mean “prosperity” or “well-being.
In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word for “peace” is "shalom" and it refers to relationships between people, nations and God with men.
Peace is something everyone wants and is being sought after around the world, yet few seem to find it.
Jesus declares in this text that "His peace He has given unto us."
The peace of God given unto us is an inheritance from God to the people of God. Yes, Jesus has left us here on earth with a GREAT inheritance called "PEACE".
That peace that He left us is described in Philippians 4:7 as the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Because we belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless us with peace that no one can completely understand. God's peace will control the way we think, act and feel, regardless of the circumstances.
The "PEACE" that Jesus gives transcends all understanding. It gives us peace in the midst of trouble, chaos, adversity, distress, worry, fear, etc.
God's peace, not the world peace which is temporary. God's peace is continually working in our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
What Jesus is saying to us is that there is no need to sit up day and night worrying, stressing and being anxious or weary about the cares of this world for He has already overcome the world for us.
People of God, today, we can rest in all things and in all situations or circumstances, knowing that our God, who is the God of all peace and comfort is working on our behalf.
“My peace I give to you.” Because of the Lord's peace He has given us, we can have joy unspeakable.
There is so much that Jesus has for us. Peace and joy in the midst of life's trials and struggles are just two of them. Throughout the Word of God, we see one evidence after the other of the things that God has given us to sustain us while we are here on earth.
The world in which we live in will continue to have unrest and not peace, but as people of God, we can find "peace" through Christ in the midst of it all because His peace rules and reigns in the hearts and minds of His people.
My peace I give unto you says the Lord.
Grab a hold of "peace" on today people of God. God has given it to you and it is yours. It is your inheritance. He left it here on earth for you.
Jesus is the One who gives peace. Jesus said, "My peace I give to you." Notice He says "My peace." These words spoken by Jesus to us is personal.
In the midst of haters, mockers, murderers, persecution, rejection, betrayers and all that He faced at Calvary, Jesus resisted it all with His own internal and eternal peace that surpass all understanding.
This same peace He has given us on today. What are we gonna do with? He has given it to us!
Lord, I thank you for peace in a world that is full of chaos and unrest. My peace I find in you and I thank you Lord.
