Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
Ephesians 6:2-Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise.
Today is the day that we in the USA recognize and honor our Fathers.
Our First honor is given to our Father who art in heaven. God, our Father. The Father of all creation whom we should honor, reverence and respect everyday.
We are also expected and should honor our earthly Father. Those men who are our Father by birth.
There are many earthly Fathers who are doing what the Lord command them to do in being a Father. Many to their own children and to many other children that they have not birth.
Perhaps, your Father may not have been the Father you would have loved for him to be. Maybe He did not meet your expectations, maybe he has not done what you expected of Him as a Father and probably is still not doing what you believe he should be doing as a Father, but honor him anyway.
The Word of God commands that we honor our Father. It is a command with a promise that if you do, your days may be long upon the land.
Remember, honoring your Father is a command not an option. Allow God to touch your heart on today and give your Father a visit or a call on today and tell them "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!"
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL FATHER'S.
