Proverbs 4:23-Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.
HEART- kardia in the greek and is define as the heart; mind, character, inner self, will, intention, center.
"Above all else, make guarding your heart a number one priority in your life.
Matthew 15:18-19 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immorality, thefts, false witness, and blasphemies.
What we say, what we think, what we do, how we act, how we treat one another are all reflections of who we are and what is on the inside of us. Believe it or not, we all act in accordance to who we are.
Who we are flows from our heart into our behavior. Our moral conduct and actions is speaking from our heart. They are showing what is in our hearts. If the heart is pure, the life will be pure; if the heart is corrupt, the life will be corrupt.
The mind of a man reflects who he really is, not simply his actions or words. That is why God examines the heart of a man and not his outward appearance.
1 Samuel 16:7- But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
The mind is like a faucet valve that opens and closes to release out whatever is in it.
If the faucet of your heart is corrupt and needs cleaning, Jesus can do just that for you if it is your desire to have your heart cleaned out.
God has given us an example in His Word in where we can begin in getting on our way to having the faucet of our heart cleaned out. Let's listen to Psalm 51:10- Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
We all must daily ask ourselves "what's pouring out of the faucet of my heart?
People of God, we must be dilligent in guarding our hearts because the condition of our heart will affect everything from from thoughts, actions and behavior.
Whatever it is that is pouring out of our hearts, is it clean or dirty? Is it pleasing to God or pleasing to me? Is it of any benefit to my now and my future destination with Christ?
Every action in life is produced by a seed of "thought" that takes root in the heart and is acted out in our conduct.
What is pouring out of the faucet of my heart? An attitude to build up or to tear down? To hurt or to help?
How is the faucet of my heart daily running? What is running out of it? is it clean or dirty?
Who is benefiting from what is being poured out of the faucet of my heart on a daily basis?
What is flowing from you? Ponder this question on today and if it is not the love of Christ, it is time to cry out to the Lord to "cleanse" your heart.
Remember! Guard your heart for out of it flows the issues of life.
