Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The Psalmist declares in this text that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Does brokenhearted and crushed in spirit describes you? Is your heart wounded by the cares of this world or by someone whom you thought loved and care for you? Was it someone you felt you could trust that wounded you?
Regardless of the source of your pain, God can and is willing to heal you. He is near your right now for if you are saved, scripture declares that "or body is the temple of the Lord" and that means that His Holy Spirit is in us. CRY OUT TO HIM!
Believe it or not, but God is the closest to us when we are hurt, wounded and feeling all alone. It is in our pain that God is nearer to us, even though the hurt we experience at that time may make us feel as if He is not, but He is.
Many today are walking around feeling lonely and as if no one cares about what they are going through. The Word of God says in 1 Peter 5:7-Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Regardless of the suffering and the pain, you must know without a doubt that God loves and He cares for you and that He will see you through this if you would only trust and seek Him.
Brokenhearted and crushed in spirit have caused many to turn to alcohol, drugs, promiscuity and every other type of illicit drugs or substance the world has to offer.
The sad thing about temporary pain relievers is that they don't fix the problem. They may appear to have fixed them for a few hours, days or even possibly a few weeks, but over and over again the pain from brokenhearted raises it's ugly head again.
If you have been wounded, the call for you on today is to look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith for He alone is the one who not only help you, but save you.
I want you to know that regardless of what you have suffered or what you be suffering right now, Jesus loves you.
If you would take a survey today you will find that many people, including myself, as we look back over our lives, we can tell you that when we truly experienced the reality of God's presence with us was during our period of suffering, loss and pain.
It is in the times of suffering and pain that God is not only nearer to us, but also when we can hear clearly from Him concerning our situation. It may be wait, not yet, tomorrow, now, etc.
Whatever it is that God is saying to us, if we incline our eyes unto His voice, we will hear Him speak words of comfort and hope to our souls.
Psalm 18:6-In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.
Brokenhearted? Run to Jesus!
Jesus is calling you on today. He is calling all the wounded in heart, broken and contrite in spirits to come unto Him. Come, all ye that labor and are a heavy laden and He will give you rest.
Jesus may not take away your pain, but He is willing to save you in it on today. His love is calling you. Come to Jesus for He is everything you need. Seek Him on today, for you will find Him.
Matthew 7:7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Psalm 91:15-He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
God's greatest picture of His love for the broken and wounded in spirits is seen at Calvary. Love for us is displayed at a level that is beyond human comprehension. Calvary turned defeat into victory for us that day and it turned brokenness into healing.
Are you in need of healing from a broken heart and a crushed spirit? God is a healer! Why not come to Him on today so that He can heal you.
God is willing to set you free on today from a broken heart and a crushed spirit. All you have to do is open your heart to Jesus. Psalm 119:32 “I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.”
When life hurts us the most, we are to focus on Christ and the Cross. The Cross is where God experienced His greatest pain and suffering.
Jesus was made a mockery while He hung on the Cross that day by nail pierced hands and feet, painful, insulting and evil words of mockery. "If He you are the Christ, save yourself."
How that must have hurt our Lord and Savior and God the Father, even though it was known beforehand (before the foundation of the world) that this would be done is beyond human comprehension, yet in the midst of looking at all of us sinners that He was placed upon that cross for He said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."
Jesus loves us so much and yet He is misunderstood by so many who do not even know Him.
At the Cross is where we see the power to heal brokenness, the power to deliver and set free.
Regardless of what the pain is that you are experiencing on today, God says, "I love you" and I am willing to heal you as He hung on Calvary cross that day.
The times that God can really do a great worked in us is when we are broken and crushed in spirit. We somehow turn our face towards Him and we begin to see and hear Him more clearly than ever.
The opportunity to humbly submit ourselves to Him is greatest in the times of our brokenness. It is in the valleys, ditches and trenches of life where the strength to stand on the mountain is received.
Contrary to what man may want you to believe, strength for the journey is only found in the valleys of a broken heart.
Brokenhearted and suffering works for the good.
Think about this for a moment. As believers, it is in our brokenness that others can see Jesus in us. When chaos and distraction is all around, we can still praise, worship, reverence and honor our God. In other words, even in the midst of life's storm, there is rest and peace through Christ Jesus for our weary souls and wounded hearts.
Broken and crushed in spirit? The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Trust Jesus on today. Call upon Him. Seek Him while He may be found for indeed He is medicine for the sin sick soul.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being your protector, comforter and healer.
