Romans 8:28-And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
This text is a promise from God to the believers.
Yes, in looking at life sometimes and the things that we may experience, as humans, it may seems hard to grasp this concept of all things working together for my good.
Regardless of how impossible this may seem to the mind, God's Word is stating it as a fact and a promise that all things, (every situation, circumstance, every hurt, pain, suffering, right wrong, etc) will work together for the good of God's people.
Of course this is hard for the finite mind to comprehend, but, we are called to believe it in spite of what our natural eyes may see.
Believe it or not, but is those thing that comes against us and causes us the most pain is what God allows to increase our faith for our faith can not continue to grow and be strengthen without the test of life.
The question for all of us on today is "do we believe" that all that we go thru in this life will eventually work for our good? God's Word said it will!
No, there is no good feeling that comes from pain and suffering to the flesh, but because of it, the inward man is growing. 2 Corinthians 4:16-That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.
Let us not get weary and be overcome by the problems of the world, but let us overcome them through Christ Jesus who declares that everything we go through, He has already obtained victory over them.
John 16:33-I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!"
Regardless of what we go through in life, God is right there with us. He was there before it all happened, He is there when it happens, and He is still there after it is all over.
God is everywhere at all times and in all circumstances. We are never out of the presence of God for He is the Sovereign God who sees and knows all things. King David confirms this for us in Psalm 139:7-12 Where shall I go from Your spirit, or where shall I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning and dwell at the end of the sea, 10 even there Your hand shall guide me, and Your right hand shall take hold of me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light shall be as night about me,” 12 even the darkness is not dark to You, but the night shines as the day, for the darkness is like light to You.
We are not told in this text that everything that happens to us will be good, but that we will benefit from it when it's over.
There are so many things that happen in life that we could possibly never explain, but as people of God, we have to trust that God knows what He is doing and that He has a purpose for allowing what He allows to come into our lives, be it good or bad.
God in His divine and supernatural wisdom and power is working all together for the good of those who love Him. All those things that makes no sense to our natural minds, God is using them to produce something good in your life and in mine.
Our beginning does not determine our ending. It is the accumulation of those things that happens in the process in between that eventually produces the end result.
An example would be one that my Pastor, Rev. Isaac J. Holt, Jr. often tells us about. He said when he was growing up his grandmother would put her ingredients on the table early in the morning for her cake that she would make later in the day. The egg, butter, sugar, flour, flavor and all necessary ingredients needed to make the cake.
Now, if we taste each one of those ingredients individually, we would say they taste nasty, but when they are all mixed together, the batter taste nothing like the individual ingredients, but when they are mixed together they gives us a foretaste of what the end results of the cake will taste like.
What is my point? Everything in our lives has to be mixed together to get the end results of what God wants to do in our lives and where He wants to take us. The good has to be mixed with the bad for without a test, there is no testimony and without a cross, there is no crown.
Wherever you may find yourself on today in way of suffering, pain, heartache, unanswered questions, sickness, finances, etc., know that God is working all those things together for your good.
God has destined everything to benefit us in the end. We are told in this text in vs#29-“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son.”
God's goal in our lives is to make us like Christ. Our end is predestined by God. He knows in advance where we will end up, regardless of what we may have to go through in the process.
The process of life is to make us more like Christ. God determines the process in how that is done. Anything that comes into our lives that makes us more like Christ is good in the eyes of God, even if it may seem painful and bad in our sight.
My prayer for all of us is that we trust God in the process of life, knowing that regardless of the process, we will benefit in the end if we keep the faith and do not get weary and give up.
Yes, there will be a due season. God's appointed time will come and we ALL who have put our faith in Him will one day be rewarded greater than we ever imagine and will one day declare that what we went through to get to the end was all worth it.
Remember, if you stay connected to God through the Word of God and prayer through the leading of the Holy Spirit, you are already a winner, even in the process of going through.
God bless you all.
