Psalm 100:1-6 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.
This text is a call for all of creation to joyfully praise the Lord our God.
We are exhorted to sing praise to our God from the depth of our souls. A sound that is louder than the one you always do when you go to the sports game or when you watch your favorite game one on t.v.
God deserves our willful and exuberant praise and worship. You know how you do it when you see your favorite team on t.v. or if you are in the stands at the game of your favorite team's game? Well, God is expecting your energetic, enthusiastic and excitement concerning Him at a greater level that its done for anything or anyone else.
God is worthy of our praise. He deserves it!
In the words of my Pastor, Rev. Isaac J. Holt Jr. "If God had not awaken you this morning in your right mind, your shoes would have been put on your head instead of your feet."
WE HAVE A REASON TO GIVE GOD THE PRIASE!!!
We are called to give grateful praise and worship to our God because of who He is and what He has done in saving us. He is the Lord God. It is He who has made us and not we ourselves.
Our God is the God of the bible who created the universe, our God who came to earth in the form of the person of Jesus Christ, our God who holds all power in His hands, our God who declares to you and I on today that He is Alpha and Omega, our God who was, is and and forever shall be.
Colossians 1:16-For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers. All things were created by Him and for Him.
God has given us His recipe for pure praise and worship to Him from our heart. No other way is acceptable. Let's listen to God's ONLY acceptable way of praise and worship to Him.
(1) Make a joyful noise unto Him, (2) Serve Him with gladness, (3) Come before HIm with singing, (4) Know that He alone is God and we who are saved are His sheep, (5) Enter His gates with thanksgiving and praise, (6) be thankful and bless His name. In other words, be appreciative for what God has already done in our lives and praise Him for it. Finally, we follow God's order of praise and worship because (6) He is and has been good, He is merciful and kind towards us and (7) He is a faithful God who we can trust and depend upon from generations pass to this present day.
Grateful praise to the Lord our God is the command!
What kind of praise are you offering to God? Are you willing to change the way you have been praising if you have not been following God's recipe He gave you in this text?
If you are not following God's recipe for true praise and worship to Him, why not?
How long will you halt between 2 opinions? God on Sunday and the world Monday through Saturday. How long?
If God be God to you, than praise, worship and serve Him for He is indeed seeking true worshipers in this hour in which we now live.
John 4:23-Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
Grateful praise! Is this what you are offering up to the Lord your God on today?
Remember, no other recipe is acceptable for true praise and worship to the Father than what He has written in His Word.
