Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
Glad to enter the Lord's house is what David confessed in this text. How about you? Are you glad?
I could remember growing up as a child when there were times I did no want to go to the Lord house. My father was a Deacon and we were at church whenever the door was open and there was times i just wanted to stay home.
Guess what? I am at a place in my life where I love going to the Lord house. It has become a necessity and not an option anymore.
As I often sit and ponder where God has brought me from the cradle to now and how he kept me through all the attacks of the enemy, I OWE GOD my everything!
All that is within me, I owe it unto the Lord my God!
As a matter of fact the Lord house is my first favorite place to go. Yes, my first on the list of ALL places to go each week.
As Dorothy said on the wizard of oz when I was a child "no place like home", well I say today "there is no place like the Lord house".
It is at the Lord house where miracles, healing, salvation, fellowship, worship, praise, hugs, cries, comfort, kind words, God's Holy Scripture and His presence through His Holy Spirit ALWAYS meets us.
The house of the Lord is where we gather with the people of God. Hebrews 10:25 Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.
Why was David so glad? David was glad because he had a personal relationship with God and is described in scripture as "a man after God's own heart". David knew personally of God's love for him, God's power and presence for he had seen it worked on his behalf in so many different circumstances and situations throughout his life, even as a small boy.
Glad to enter? I am glad! It bring me joy to enter the Lord house on today knowing that He WILL meet me there.
Oh, the joy of expectation of what God will do on today as we meet in fellowship with Him at His house on today.
Let us all rise up early, prepare ourselves and head out to the Lord's house. There are blessings there that awaits you as you joyfully enter therein.
Glad to enter! God is glad to know that you are not only coming, but that you are joyfully coming with expectation of what He is able and willing to do on your behalf on today.
As busy as life is and as important as all other things appear to be on the Lord's day, we owe it to God to enter gladly into His house on today people of God.
There is nothing more important in life than a personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus for when all is over on this side that is ALL that will matter. As the Apostle Paul said "everything else is counted as dung". Meaning everything else is worthless!
How can you have a relationship without communing with the one you are in relationship with. No fellowship, no relationship! Bottom line! Convince yourself of whatever you want, but only what we do for Christ will last.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
I am glad to enter the Lord house. I pray this is your heartbeat on today.
Glad to enter? Does this describe you? If not, why not? Ponder these question on today.
THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU LORD!
