Matthew 4:19-And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.
When Jesus began His public, earthly ministry at the age of 30, He went out looking for men who were willing to say 'YES LORD" and he found 12 of them who were from different walks of life, different backgrounds and different occupations who said "YES" and when they did, He told them "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
The disciples said “YES LORD” even though it meant danger, persecution and possibly death.
Guess what? Jesus knew them all inside and out. He knew which ones would say "YES" and those were the ones He called out.
To prove that Jesus knew who He was choosing as His disciples, let's listen to what He said to them after He choose them in John 6:20-Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?”
Jesus was not blinded to who the 12 was that He chose. He is not blinded to us either for He knows exactly who we are and in spite of our shortcoming He is still listening to hear "YES LORD" from you and I.
Christ goal for you and I after salvation is to make us "fishers of men" if we are willing to say "SAY LORD" to His will for our lives.
Throughout the bible we find many people who trusted God and said "YES LORD" to His will for their lives.
Noah had the choice of building an ark or not building an ark. He said "YES LORD" and began building it unto the completion of it.
Moses stood before a burning bush and said "YES" to God who commanded him to go to Pharaoh, King of Egypt and command him to confront Him with what thus says the Lord in the release of God's people, even though doing so could have cost him his life, so he thought.
The prophet Isaiah said these profound words concerning God's will for a voice to cry out to the people on His behalf. Isaiah said "YES LORD, here I am! send me."
Mary, the mother of Jesus at the conversation of her and the Angel Gabriel, she said "YES" to God's will for her life as Mother of the Savior of the world. Luke 1:38-Mary said, “I am the Lord’s servant! Let it happen as you have said.” And the angel left her.
The woman at the well said "YES LORD" when she replied to Jesus with these profound words: "I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world."
Saul, aka the Apostle Paul said "Yes" to Jesus when he was commanded to bare the name of Jesus before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the sons of Israel after meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus.
Today, God is listening to hear "YES LORD" from you.
Jesus Himself said "YES" to leaving His home in heaven and putting on flesh to come to earth to die for the sins of humanity, knowing that He was also saying yes to 'REJECTION, FALSE ACCUSATIONS, HATRED, DENIAL OF WHO HE WAS, CRUCIFIXION AND EVENTUALLY DEATH ON A CROSS", BUT YET HE STILL SAID "YES" so that you and I can be reconciled back to God by faith through the shedding of His blood.
By saying “yes” to God, we are essentially saying that our relationship with Him is more important than anything in this world.
Are you willing to say "YES" to the will of God for your life?
Everyone of us was created for a purpose. If you don't know what your purpose is, seek God for direction.
What I have found out about my purpose is it was something that I was already passionately doing that would bring glory and honor to God and His Kingdom.
Teaching the Word of God is my passion and my purpose.
If you say "YES" to the Lord on today, He promises you in Psalm 32:8 - I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
God will not ask anything of us that we are not capable of doing. Once He Hears our "YES LORD", He begins to stir up and develop that "gift" He has already placed in us when he created us.
For all those who are willing to say 'YES" Lord, God offers us assurance on today with this promise that is found in 2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
Why should we say "YES" Lord? Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, but to give you a future and a hope.
1 John 2:17 - The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
"YES LORD" MY LIFE IS YOURS! Is this the cry of your heart to the Lord on today? Is this the position of your heart concerning God's will for your life?
If you response is "YES LORD" to God, He will lead the way.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
If eternity in heaven with God is your desire destination, saying "YES LORD" NOW to Jesus is not an option for you. John 14:6-Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
When you say "YES LORD" to GOD'S will for your life, KEEP YOUR WORD FOR THEY ARE POWERFUL AND PRODUCES RESULTS! We will give an account for the vow we make unto the Lord.
If you make a vow to the Lord your God, here is what scripture says concerning you keeping it in Deuteronomy 23:21-23 When you make a vow to the Lord your God, you must not be slow to pay it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and it would be a sin to you. 22 But if you refrain from making a vow, it will not be a sin to you. 23 That which goes out of your lips you must keep and do, even a freewill offering, just as you have vowed to the Lord your God, what you have promised with your mouth.
life and death is in the power of the tongue. "YES" LORD or "NO" Lord? What is your response to Christ and His will for your life?
Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
I hope and pray that today is the day that you trust God with your "YES LORD".
