Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.
WEARY=kataponeó in the greek and means to to wear down. exhaust by labor or suffering, wear out, overpower, oppress.
In the previous verses of this text, the Apostle Paul talks about the advantage of sowing to the spirit verses sowing to the flesh. in vs#7 of he speaks about God not being mocked. We can not fool God!
This text is a promise to the faithful. Those who sow the spirit and not to the flesh. We WILL reap a harvest if we do not give up and quit.
As it is with a farmer, so it is with the human life. If a farmer plants seeds of corn, tomatoes or beans when the time comes to reap what he has sown, the seeds he planted will be the crops he produces.
Sowing and reaping has the same principal in the spiritual realm also.
When we purpose in our hearts to do the will of God for our lives by daily striving to walking in the fruit of the Spirit, seeking to obey God, to do His will and to serve Him with our whole heart, then we will reap the benefits of a life filled with a growing relationship with God, blessings, fulfillment, joy unspeakable, peace that surpass all understanding and eventually a crown of life in eternity with the Father.
If we sow to our flesh in the pleasures of all the things this world has to offer we reap sin, corruption and eternal separation from God after death. Sow to the flesh, you reap the things of the flesh that eventually brings corruption and eternal death to your soul.
James 1:13-15 Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil; neither does He tempt anyone. 14 But each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. 15 Then, when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin; and when sin is finished, it brings forth death.
People of God, you will reap a harvest if you do not give up and quit the Christian race. Without a doubt, God has promised you a crown of life if you endure to the end. Your labor is not in vain so don't quit!
People of God, we are reminded by the Apostle Paul on today that if we do not quit and give up, we WILL surely see the reward of our labor at God's appointed time in our life.
The good news about sticking with God is He always give us more than we deserve. Our harvest is always greater than our expectation where He is concerned.
Perhaps, on today you may be discouraged about your current life circumstance, a job situation, a family situation, etc. and want to just throw in the towel. DON'T DO IT! Trust God to see you through the process!
If there ever was a time we needed to trust the words of God and what He speaks through the Apostle Paul in this text to you and I, today is that time.
Remember, whatever it is that you are dealing with SHALL come to pass. Be not weary in well doing!
The greatest reason we ALL have to not be weary is the fact that the Lord our God who is the Sovereign God of the Universe is still in full control of all the affairs of the world, regardless of what it looks like with our natural eyes. God sees what we can't see.
There is a purpose in our pain and in our struggles. God uses them to strengthen our inner man.
Now, I must admit that struggles, pain, suffering and the testing of our faith do not feel good at all. As a matter of fact, they can be very painful at times, but we must press our way through them.
James 1:3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
The call to the people of God in this cruicial hour in which we now live is “And let us not grow weary while doing good.”
The promise of the call is "we will reap a harvest if we do not give up and quit".
NEVER GIVE UP! ARE YOU DETERMINED TO DO JUST THAT IN SPITE OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE?
I can't give up! I have come too far to turn around now!
What about you? Are you determined to go all the way with the Lord?
