Psalm 46:1-11 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of need.
The Psalmist in this text declares his confidence in the Lord his God. His confidence is seen in his description of who he says God is to us.
Let's listen to David's view of who God is to His people. (1) REFUGE-In other words, God is our shelter in whom we can place our faith and trust in. Proverbs 8:10-The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
(2) STRENGTH-In other words, God is our power and our might. As we all know, when the struggles, test and trials of life comes they drain our strength to some degree and causes us to feel weary and not as strong as we should be in the midst of them. It is in these times that God is and can be our strength even the more.
Psalm 28:8-The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
(3) PRESENT HELP- In other words, God is always available to His people. We have His abiding peace and presence with us always through His Holy Spirit and we have unlimited access to Him through Christ Jesus by faith.
Are you in need of God's help or are you in need of a hiding place where you can be strengthen? The Sovereign Lord God is it!
Trouble and the need for God's help WILL visit us all. If you say not me, "KEEP LIVING"!
God's Word declares on today that He is a "VERY PRESENT" help in time of need. In other words, He is the help and strength you need right now!
Hebrews 4:16-Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
A Shelter in the stormy seas, raging winds and heavy down pours of rain in our life is the Lord our God.
