2 Corinthians 5:21 God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
This text presents us with the BEST news we will ever here in a lifetime.
Concerned about your eternal destination? Worry no more for in this text, God through the Apostle Paul has given us the answer on how to enter heaven.
The apostle Paul has been writing to the Christians in Corinth about the reconciliation we have from God in Christ Jesus.
The Apostle Paul informs every man, woman, boy and girl in the world that God, through His Son Jesus Christ, gave us a way of escape from the eternal penalty of sin and death.
Paul starts off by saying "God made" His Son Jesus who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf.
There is nothing mention in scripture of our deserving or of our being good enough is why God gave His Son to die on our behalf. No, it is out of God's love for us that He sent forth His son to die for us while we were yet sinners.
Yes, Jesus death on the cross for the sins of humanity was God's plan. It is God who declares that He would put on flesh in the form of His Son Jesus Christ and come and dwell among us.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Man could have never been given the opportunity to be reconciled back to God apart from God activating the plan.
Because of God's "LOVE" for us, we are convinced that Christ died for us ALL. He did it so that all who live should not from now on live for themselves, but for Him who died for us and rose again.
The Apostle Paul describes Jesus as "Him who knew no sin". In other words, Jesus was the sinless sacrifice that became the ultimate sacrifice once for and for all.
When Christ died on the cross, He was treated as if he was a sinner, but we know that He was sinless and never committed a sin. Jesus was God in the flesh.
Jesus was charged with the crime of "blasphemy" and treated as a vile criminal who was hung between 2 other criminals. He was murdered in a very painful way with nails in His hands and feet to a wooden cross. THAT'S LOVE ON DISPLAY PEOPLE OF GOD!
Isaiah 53:12-(CEV) The Lord will reward him with honor and power for sacrificing his life. Others thought he was a sinner, but he suffered for our sins and asked God to forgive us.
The benefit of Jesus death for all humanity was to reconcile us back to God the Father. We were separated from him by the sins of our first parents (Adam and Eve) whose sinful nature was passed down to ALL of humanity, which caused us to become God's enemy.
Reconciliation to a right relationship with God was made possible for ALL of humanity through "SINLESS" Christ Jesus.
Reconciliation=katallagé in the greek and means reconciliation, restoration to favor.
Righteousness=dikaiosuné in the greek and means ustice, justness, righteousness. Righteousness of which God is the source or author, but practically: a divine righteousness.
Jesus death on the cross for the sins of humanity was indeed the "GREAT EXCHANGE'! Our sins for His "Righteousness".
When we accept God's atoning work at Calvary by faith as payment in full for our sins and believe that on the third day, God raised Jesus from the dead and that He is now seated in heaven on the right hand of God the Father, the righteousness of God IMMEDIATELY becomes available to you through the Holy Spirit of God who indwells you the moment you are born again.
The Apostle Paul says that by the death of Christ, we have the righteousness of God imputed to us. In other words, we are brought into a right relationship with God as if we have never sinned at the point of salvation.
The "GREAT EXCHANGE" is a free gift of God through Christ Jesus alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, 9 not of works, so that no one should boast.
New Year, new mindset and new beginnings. God still offers this today to anyone who would believe on Him.
Christ died and was condemned so that you and I can be justified, made righteous through Christ and set free from the eternal punishment of sin and death. Oh what an "EXchange"!
Why spend the rest of your days on earth wondering where you will spend eternity when you have been given the truth of God's Gospel that eternity in heaven with God is available to you even right now by faith through Christ Jesus.
Justified by Christ through faith! Wow!
The "GREAT EXCHANGE" FROM ENEMY TO FRIEND!
The "GREAT EXCHANGE"=He who knew no sin became sin for you and me.
Thank You Lord for the "GREAT EXCHANGE" from death to life everlasting with you in heaven.
Your Servant Debra
