Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Do you want a change of mind? The mind of Christ that gives life and hope?
Well, if you answered yes, hopefully these words of inspiration and encouragement through scripture can help you.
To be not conformed to the patterns of this world requires the Holy Spirit help. When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savor the process of saving faith in Christ begins for us.
Prior to salvation we were ruled by the the sinful nature we were born with as a result of our first parents, Adam and Eve disobedience in the garden of Eden.
After salvation, a believer’s responsibility is to yield to the Holy Spirit’s leading and let the Holy Spirit of God transform his or her life by the renewing of their minds with the Word of God.
Romans 8:9 “You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.”
Yes, renewing of the mind starts with change in the mind’s thoughts which results in change of our behavior.
As the Holy Spirit leads and we obey His leading there should be less and less of the world’s patterns of behavior and thoughts coming out of our mouth, attitudes and behavior over time.
The problem today is that too many people are trying to change their behavior and not their minds.
When behavior changes and our mind remains the same, the results of change is only temporary and then we find ourselves right back where we originally started, only this time with more frustration than before.
We can not continue to think the same way and expect different results. One can’t change without the other because they go hand in hand. Changed mind brings about changed behavior.
When we think different we act different and we see different results in all areas of our lives.
Attempting to change your behavior and not the way you think has caused many people to quit and walk away from the Lord’s work and in some case walk away from Him completely.
We are reminded in Jesus this in Luke 9:62 - Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
We are living in a time where it is imperative that right thinking and right behavior be exemplified, especially if you claim to be walking wit the Lord.
Today is the day to get rid of the world’s stinking way of thinking and put on Holy thinking and behavior patterns of the God we claim to love and serve.
Philippians 4:8 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
What are you thinking? Is it Godly thoughts that are good and not of evil? Those are the words that helps change our thinking and eventually the process of a behavior change.
Do you ever find yourself trying to change and it just don’t seem to be happening for you? Have you ever thought that maybe the way you think has something to do with why there is no progress in the area of your behavior?
Having the mind of Christ requires that we view life from God’s perspective through His Word and that we have a desire and mindset to want to be like Him in His thoughts and His character.
The more our minds are transformed into the likeness of Christ the more the ways of the world behavior and thought are pushed out of us.
More of God and less of us and our desires and will for our lives in exchange for God’s will and desire for us is the road to a transformed mind.
Want to know the mind of Christ and what God is thinking about your life and how you should live it in the world in which you live? Read the bible and believe what it says!
The secret not to a perfect life but to Holy living starts with a changed mind. A transformed mind through God’s Word. A mind set on God and the things of God.
An example of a changed mind and transformed life would be that of a caterpillar that was transformed in to a beautiful butterfly. The caterpillar struggled daily to squeeze itself out of the world’s mold as the caterpillar through all of nature’s weather it had to endure just to become that beautiful butterfly it knew that was on the inside of it.
Remember people of God, “a changed mind produces changed behavior patterns.”
