Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.
In this text we are reminded that the only guarantee in life is God and not man, therefore God admonishes us to boast not of tomorrow because we do not know what tomorrow holds.
Bragging about the future? The only guaranteed future we all have is right now, the moment that we are currently in.
Tomorrow is only hoped for but not guaranteed. None of us knows what a day may bring, only God.
Be content with today and give thanks for it. If the Lord willing, we will see the future one second, one minute and one day at a time, therefore, be thankful and enjoy the now that you have been given.
Boast not about tomorrow for you may be brought to shame, but say this “if the Lord willing” I will do this or that.
When we can not see tomorrow today with out natural eyes, but only in hope that lies in our mind and hearts, we MUST know without a doubt, trust and believe that God knows the plans He has for us and if it be His will, tomorrow will be ours to see.
People of God, remember that God holds the future in His hands and He will work His plans for us and for our good.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
When we can’t see tomorrow and feel a need to boast, God has given us permission to boast in one kind of way and that is in Him. 2 Corinthians 10:17 As the Scriptures say, "If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD."
Tomorrow! God is already there and He already has it figured out!
No, we do not know what tomorrow holds but it does not mean that we don’t prepare for tomorrow, just that we don’t boast about it.
God already knows the future. We can’t figure it out so trusting and hoping in God and His plans for us will help us to trust God even in our expectation of tomorrow.
.God knows tomorrow and He knows our needs for tomorrow and guess what, He will be there to provide for tomorrow.
Let us make our boast in the Lord on today and the “salvation” that He has made available to all men.
Tomorrow is not promised, seek the Lord while it is yet today.
Remember, God knows the plans He has for you!
