2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For this reason we do not lose heart: Even though our outward man is perishing, yet our inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 Our light affliction, which lasts but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The Righteous shall live by faith!
Too often in our lives even us a Christians, the cares of this world, the pain, suffering, persecution, struggles, uncertainties, etc can cause us to grow weary in doing what God commands and expects of us.
The Apostle Paul reminds us on this morning that eventhough our flesh gets weary and tired we should never give up and quit. What we must realize and understand is the fact that the hard and painful places in life is where the opportunities for our faith and trust in God to grow.
Apostle Paul describes the afflictions of the flesh (this earthly body we live in) as temporary (lasting for a short period of time) where God is concerned, even if it seems like a lifetime to us.
Apostle Paul is not trying to downplay the reality of pain and suffering but what He is saying to us is “yes” pain and suffering is real if viewed from an earthly perspective and at times may seem more than we can endure but when viewed from the lense of eternity by faith through the Word of God we will see that they are only temporary.
To give us hope and the will to continue on in life’s struggles Paul reminds us to not place so much focus or emphasis on what we see for all of that is temporary but what we can not see (God working in the spiritual realm on our behalf) for His eternal glory is what’s most important, therefore, we MUST keep our minds on things that are eternal.
The spiritual/mental goal today is not to view your pain and suffering as it is pleasurable or don’t exist, but for us to bring our temporary earthly suffering in comparison to God’s heavenly glory that will be revealed in us when Christ returns for it is that place where we will be strengthened.
Our view of life is our determining factor in whether or not we continue on in the struggle or give up and quit.
People of God, ask God to give you the spiritual insight needed to see what He sees in His Word concerning you and I now and in the future.
We are living in a time where the the focus of the world’s affairs are being consumed by the minds of man like never before. What we must remember is that God is the Sovereign God of the universe and if our faith and trust is in Him, He will direct our path.
Does following Christ makes us immune from the test, struggles and sufferings of life? No! Jesus reminds us in John 16:33- I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Now is the time to seek God through His Word for He promises to keep thee in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him.
People of God, it s by faith alone!
Faith or fear? God’s view or your view? God’s way or your way?
Today we ALL are being called by “FAITH” to trust God to lead, guide and direct us in this chaotic world in which we live. If we do, we will arrive at the right destination at the right time and not too early or too late.
Life on earth is short and temporary. If we lived 100 years, what are they in comparison to eternity?
Faith in God alone! Without it, it is impossible to please God!
It’s time to put on the lense of faith if we want to survive these perilous times in which we live. Get on your knees to the Lord for guidance and direction. He is the only guaranteed Compass.
