Psalm 51:5 I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.
The Psalmist of this text, David, had written this passage of scripture after he had sinned with Bathsheba and had been confronted about it by the Prophet Nathan.
David confesses here that his sin issue was not found in him at the time of his sinful act with Bathsheba but that he sinned because he is the offspring of sinful Adam of whom dna is in all of us.
In other words, David is declaring that sin did not just happened when we acted it out, it was already in him and it is in us!
None of us are exempt from sin nor it’s penalty for scripture declares that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.
The good news on today is the fact that none of us have to remain in a willful lifestyle of sin because the price to redeem and reconcile us back to a right relationship with God the Father was paid once and for all through Christ Jesus by the shedding of His blood on the Cross.
Romans 5:19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
The truth of the matter is the fact that on our own and by our own efforts, we are not righteous. Sin has affected what we say, what we do and what we think. Therefore, our goodness is not good enough to meet God’s standard of righteousness.
Because Jesus who knew no sin was perfect in all his ways submitted to obedience to God the Father in what He did, said and think, He alone is the “RIGHTEOUS" One who is able to atone for our sins.
2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Because of what Christ did on behalf of sinners like you and I, by faith the apostle Paul declare these words in Galatians 2:20-I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Since none of us are exempt from the penalty of sin and death, have we taken inventory of our lives? Have we or are we in the process of surrendering our lives over to Christ by faith in submission to His authority in our lives through obedience to His Word because of his His atoning work on our behalf at the Cross?
When God looks at the believer, He sees the holiness, perfection, and righteousness of Christ Jesus because of our faith in what He has done on our behalf in sending forth His Only Begotten Son to die in our place.
Because none of us are exempt from sin nor it’s penalty, it is time to repent and turn to Jesus for the saving of our soul for the days are evil.
Today we ALL have been made aware that we are not exempt from sin nor it’s penalty in and of ourselves so what are we going to do with that knowledge from God’s Word?
How are we gonna view and deal with the truth of our sinful nature since none of us are exempt from it?
Believe it or not but Jesus is our ONLY way of escape! Yes, He came, died and shed His blood and resurrected just for you and me so that we may live again with the Father in eternity.
NONE OF US ARE EXEMPT!
In what direction will you go from here? To whom or where will you run to?
What is your escape route? There is truly one road or highway to God called “JESUS".
I have given you what the Lord gave to me for you in these evil and perilous days in which we live so now the ball is in your hands. You can shoot for the skies with zero return in the end or you can kneel at the cross in repentance and find everlasting forgiveness of your sins.
None exempt! What are these 2 words saying to you? How will you respond?
