Psalm 95:6-7 O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker.
7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
BOW DOWN= sugkuptó in the greek and means to bend forward, bow down. I am bowed together, bent double.
This Psalmist of this text inivites us to "come", worship and bow down before the Lord our God for "worship" is what is due to Him because He is God and we are the sheep of His pasture. It is the Lord God who made us and not we ourselves.
Worship is not an option for the believer, it is a command that is expected to be obeyed by the people of God. Luke 4:8-Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'"
True Worship pleases God and takes the focus off of us and places it on God.
John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Psalm 51:16-17 For You do not desire sacrifice, or I would give it; you do not delight in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
The worship that God is looking for from us on today is not through songs or music. All of those are good but today God is looking for worship from a prostrated heart that is able to connect with Him by faith in Christ Jesus through His Holy Spirit.
When we hear the Lord's voice calling us to worship Him, our response should not be a hardened heart, but an obedient heart. We MUST heed His call!
John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
Today as we head out to the Lord's house to worship Him, let us not forget, but, be mindful that we are coming into the presence of our Creator who is the Sovereign God of the universe, the Everlasting Father.
O come, let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation through worship in spirit and in truth.
