This text is a part of Jesus Sermon on the Mount called the "BEATITUDE".
The "Beatitudes" describes the characteristics of God's people in the earth. Those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus by faith in God's atoning work at the cross on their behalf as full payment for our sins.
Romans 8:14-17 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. 15 For you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear. But you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs: heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified with Him.
People of God, the blessing that has been given to you and I is that as "peacemakers" we are called the "children of God" and joint heirs with Christ Jesus. GLOOORRRYYY!!!!!!!!!!
People everywhere are searching for "peace". True and everlasting "peace" can only be found in a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. Everything else is temporary.
Contrary to what society, the world or even what man or your mama or daddy has to say, Jesus declares to us on today that it is the "peacemakers" that are happy, blessed and are on their way to heaven. These are those who are called "sons and daughters" of God.
As people of God, we are daily becoming "sons and daughters" of God through the work of the Holy Spirit of God that indwells us. Yes, it is through our obedience to the leading of God's Spirit that we are daily being transformed into the likeness of Christ. No, it is not of our own efforts or works, IT'S ALL GOD'S WORK in and through us!
I am sure that the desire of mankind around the universe is to find "peace" that surpass all understanding. The truth of the matter is that there is no true "peace" apart from Christ.
The "peace" of God and with God can be found in the midst of trouble and turmoil, even in the world in which we live that is full of it. As God's people we can still triumph, even in trouble.
Romans 5:1-Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
People of God, in a world where hate, evil, violence, wars, rumors of wars, killings, threats, jealousy, persecution, etc are so prevalent, Jesus sends us out with a heart of "peacemakers" so that we can nurture the wounded, abused, hurt, neglected, oppressed, etc with His Words of comfort.
Peacemaker or troublemaker? Which best describes your daily routine? One of making peace or one who is a troublemaker who causes problems everywhere you go?
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.
My prayer for you all on today is that "peacemaker" describe who you are this day and everyday.
