Proverbs 21:21 He who follows after righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.
PURSUE=radaph in the greek and means to chase or to follow after closely and with great effort and energy.
RIGHTEOUSNESS=dikaiosuné in the greek and is defined as righteousness, justice. Righteousness of which God is the source or author. A divine righteousness.
Believe it or not but "Righteousness" is the greatest pursuit any man can pursue for it is everlasting.
When righteousness and mercy is our pursuit we are saying that it is our desire to have our lives measured by what is right or wrong according to God's Word and not our opinion or anyone else.
He or she who pursues righteous is pursuing God's thoughts and actions and the desire to be conformed to the will of God for their lives.
What are you in pursuit of in life? Is it godliness, righteousness and mercy? This is the will of God for us.
People of God, the call is to be "loyal". To be loyal means to be faithful, committed and reliable. This is who God is to us and this is the kind of relationship He wants us to purse with Him.
The fruit of righteousness and mercy produces life, righteousness and honor.
In our world today people are pursing just about everything imaginable. Anything that the world has to offer is temporary and short lived but what God offers is eternal.
1 John 2:17-The world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
In your pursuit in life, let us fervently and diligently chase God and his righteousness first and all other things will be added unto us.
Righteousness and mercy must be a continual, daily pursuit of ours always. Also, our pursuit of godly righteousness must not be on Sunday only, but Monday through Sunday.
Those that truly follow after righteousness from a pure heart shall find righteousness. It is indeed those who are in pursuit of God's righteousness are the ones He grant the grace to do good and in turn they find pleasure in doing it because it pleases God.
Matthew 7:7 - Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Are you having a struggle with righteous living? God can help you. Call upon Him for He promises to hear you.
Righteous can not be obtained in and of ourselves. It is imputed unto us by God through Faith in His atoning work on our behalf through His Son Christ who died and shed His blood for the remission of our sins.
None of us have the ability to live righteous apart from God's Holy Spirit who leads, guides and directs us into all truth and righteousness when we get saved.
Romans 5:17-For if by one man’s trespass death reigned through him, then how much more will those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
If you have been living a life of unrighteousness, God can help you begin to live right starting today with a personal relationship with Him through Christ Jesus by faith.
Hebrews 11:6-And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
James 1:5-If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him.
Even in a world of chaos, unrighteousness, lawlessness, unbelief, doubt, etc., God calls His people (you and I) to continue to passionately pursue righteousness in all our affairs on a daily basis. Yes, God has set the standard in His Word as to how we should live and He also shows us the benefits in His Word of righteous living.
Pursue righteousness and you will find eternal life with the Lord God.
Thank You Lord for giving your people a heart to pursue you through the righteousness of your Son Jesus Christ.
We Love you Lord!
Your Servant Debra.
