Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid, only believe.”
Every human being is subject to emotions. None of us are exempt. God created us with feelings of emotions that can cause one to feel happy, sad, glad , fearful, worrisome, etc.
Being afraid or fearful, especially of the unknown or unseen is an obstacle that has and still is today gripping the hearts and minds of many people.
As humans it is in our nature to want to be in control and have assurance immediately in all circumstances all the time. We want to see and know how things will work out right at that moment but life does not always offer us that opportunity in every circumstance in life.
Regardless of where we are in our faith God requires faith to not only please Him but faith to allow us to see in the spirit what we are not able to see with the natural eyes for that is truly what faith is.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
In this text Jesus had just crossed over the other side of the sea of Galilee by boat where he met a huge crowd at the seashore. Among the crowd was Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue and a man of great influence and prestige who had a daughter that was sick unto death and was in desperate need of getting well or she would die.
Falling to the feet of Jesus in desperation, fear, worry, anxiety and hope, Jarius spoke these words to Jesus at their encounter at the seashore: “My little daughter is at the point of death; [please] come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will be healed and live.” 24 And Jesus went with him; and a massive crowd closely followed Him and pressed in around Him from all side.
Without hesitation Jesus makes His way to the home of Jarius.
On His way to Jarius house Jesus was interrupted by a woman who had an issue of blood for 12 long years. She heard that Jesus was passing by and knew this was the day for her to received her much needed healing. She made a statement of faith to herself "if I could just touch the hem of His garment, I will be made whole" and she did just that and immediately her issue of blood of 12 years dried up.
Jesus having questioned who touched Him and the woman confessing that "it was I", Jesus sad to her "said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Where is your faith on today? What miracle are you in desperate need of? What has risen as priority in your mind concerning your situation? is it fear, anxiety, stress, unbelief, worry or faith? Where are you in your faith in God who is able to do the impossible in your situation?
Jesus is saying to you and I "ONLY BELIEVE." Yes, He is telling us to allow our "FAITH" to rise above our emotions and we too will see miracles taking place in our lives too. God is no respecter of persons.
People of God, like the woman with the issue of blood, SPEAK FAITH over your situation. SPEAK THE WORD OF GOD for it has the power to change any circumstance.
Having healed the woman with the issue of blood, Jesus makes his way to Jarius house a messenger came While Jesus was still speaking and told Jarius “Your daughter is dead, Why bother the teacher anymore?”
Overhearing what they said, Jesus told Jarius, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
In life and especially in the time of desperation we have to trust God like never before. We also have to "SHUT OUT" the outside voices of others. Turn them off and get in tune with the spirit of God through the Word of God concerning your situation. If not, doubt along with our emotions will take us on an unexpected, fearful, painful and unnecessary ride in our minds.
When Jesus arrived to Jarius, he put out all the nosy onlookers. He SHUT THEM OUT! He called Jarius into agreement by faith and performed a miracle in bringing his daughter back to life.
BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY BELIEVE SAYS JESUS!!!
God is calling us to trust Him like never before people of God, especially in these perilous and evil days in which we live that presents so much opportunity to fret and not believe the Word of God in His Bible.
It is time for the people of God to gird their loins with the truth of God's Word and fight against the enemy called "fear" that is hindering us from all that God has for us.
ONLY BELIVE SAYS JESUS!!! Our God is the God of the impossible! He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to our faith.
The same Jesus that turned water into wine, raised Lazrus from the dead, healed the women with the issue of blood, raised Jarius daughter from the dead, He who was raised from the dead 3 days later is also able to raise up our dead situations and circumstances, but we have to believe that He is able, can and will do it for us too.
This story encourages me in knowing that NOTHING is too hard for the Lord if we could only believe.
God has ALL power in His hands, therefore He was able to heal Jairus's daughter whether he arrives late or not.
What desperate situation did you awaken to this morning? ONLY BELIEVE!
Thank You Lord for faith to believe that the impossible with man is ALWAYS a possible with God.
PEOPLE OF GOD, ONLY BELIVE!
