Galatians 1:15 - But when it pleased God, who set me apart since I was in my mother’s womb and called me by His grace.
The Apostle Paul defensively gives his testimony to his opposers (Judiazers) at the church of Galatia of the wonders of God that was revealed through Jesus in God's redemptive work not only at the cross but also in his life.
Paul went on to give a little background information on who he was and what his life was as a Judiazer and persecutor of God's people prior to his redemption and compares it to his current life now in Christ as an Apostle of Jesus Christ, called by God, and credits it ALL to the work of God's amazing grace that was worked in and through Him by faith in Christ alone.
Paul made it clear that he was not seeking the approval of man, but of God when he quoted these words in Galatians 1:10“For am I now seeking approval of man of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Salvation is God's redemptive work and power by which we are saved by God's amazing grace through faith in God's atoning work at Calvary.
Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved."
The Apostle Paul reflects on his conversion and call to the ministry and gives all credit to God in Heaven who in His Sovereign power and free gift of grace foreknew him and set him apart while he was yet in his mother's womb.
God spoke almost the identical thing to the Prophet Jeremiah concerning His foreknowledge of Jeremiah also in Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you were born I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.
God's word of His foreknowledge of Paul and Jeremiah applies to you and I also. We were not a surprise to God because it was God who formed us in our mother's womb. He foreknew us even as a thought in His mind and He created us for His purpose, His goodness and His glory.
People of God, every fiber of our being is known by God. It is He who created us and not we ourselves. No, we were not an after thought or an accidental birth. God foreknew us before the foundation of the world.
God's people are described this way in Psalm 139:14-I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
Before I was born God chose me and called me by His marvelous grace. Wow!
Thank you Lord that I was not an after thought but that I was known by you even as a thought in your mind before you created me.
Lord, you alone are God and there is none like you!
My Lord, My God, My Savior Jesus Christ who is my Redeemer.
Thank You Lord.
