Matthew 24:12 12 Because iniquity will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
As part of His answer to the disciples’ question, “What will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the time, Jesus makes a prediction to His disciples that one sign that will proceed His 2nd coming is that the hearts of many will grow exceedingly cold and loveless due to increase wickedness in the world.
There will be a rise in false teachers who will deceive many. Unfortunately many will be deceived and follow these false prophets.
There will be hatred, betrayal and persecution against God's people from within the circle of faith and from without.
One thing of a surety is that the troubles in the land of the living will increase and produce evidence of what's inside of us. These troubled time will show evidence of those who belong to God and those who do not. There will be evidence of God's sheep(those belonging to God) and the goat (those who God will say depart from me I know you not).
Wax Cold hearts! Are we there yet? No doubt about it. We see the increase in lovelessness in our world every day as we listen to news reports or radio and television, we see it within our families, communities, churches, among our friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc.
Instead of love abounding more we are seeing more of the opposite even among the people who claim to be of God.
The Apostle Paul describes them in this way in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
How can we as the people of God be sure that the love we have for Christ will never grow cold? We begin by examining ourselves to be sure we are truly in the faith by the love of Christ that is within us and is shared abroad in our hearts.
Evidence that our hearts have not waxed cold is a life that is lived out through the fruit of the Spirit in spite of the persecution.
If we truly belong to Christ, we can be confident that we possess the love from the Spirit of God that lives on the inside of us that grows not cold.
People of God we are in a time where discernment through the word of God and God's Holy Sprit, knowledge and wisdom in the word of God and application of God's written word in His bible is critical to our christian faith and our walk as God's people.
Deception is greater now than ever! It is time to put on the whole armor of God and gird yourself with God's truth daily.
One thing I know for a fact and that is satan takes no days off. He works 24/7.
Its time to wake up as the days of rejection of sound doctrine are upon us! Many who profess to be Christians have rejected truth and sound doctrine and would rather have their ears be tickled instead.
The Bible teaches in the last days there will be a great falling away and we are definitely there now.
People of God, look around and you will clearly see that the love of many is growing cold. Let this evil be not spoken of you.
In spite of what the world is doing and how they have chosen not to respond to the call of God to be ye separated from evil, God, the Lord God who is seated high and lifted up in heaven has preserved a remnant of people that will LOVE HIM, love sound doctrine and love their fellow christian brothers and sisters.
I want to end with this passage of scripture that is found in 1 John 2:15-17 -Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Wax Cold Heart! HMMM.
I can only hope and pray that if you confess Christ "wax cold heart" does not describe the life you currently live.
The time to seek the Lord is now for the saving of your soul.
