Psalm 62:11 God has spoken once, twice have I heard this:that power belongs to God.
David is described in scripture by God as "a man after God's own heart".
David had history with God. As he looked backed through the rear view mirror of his life he had not only come to believe, but knows without a shadow of a doubt that power belongs to God.
God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God: This unwavering truth about God was deeply ingrained in David’s mind and his soul.
Throughout his life David sees the hand of God and comes to the conclusion that "Power" indeed belongs to God and no one else.
Because of what David knew to be true concerning God, he was determined and purposed in his heart that he would place his trust in God and God alone.
What about you? In whose hands do you believe power lies? Yours, your resources, your family heritage, your status, yourself or God?
Where have you placed your faith and hope on today? In the power of man, self sufficiency or God? Where is it? Scripture declares that "POWER BELONGS TO GOD"!
Who is this God that David declares to all of us on today is the God of all power. Well, I am glad you ask. Let's listen to Psalm 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD Strong and Mighty, the LORD Mighty in battle.
Once God had spoken and David says twice he had heard that power belongs to God. When God speaks there is no doubt it is Him. We do not need to second guess it, we may try to oppress it or say it is not Him, but deep down within we know it is the voice of God that has spoken.
Spoken once but heard twice! Think about that for a moment. There is a reason for this. There is something to be heard, adhere to and act upon. God does not speak just to hear Himself, He speaks for and with a purpose and authority!.
Since power belong to God, David refuse to look for strength anywhere else. Since power belongs to God David did not long for nor desire power unto himself.
I too have purpose in my hear that "POWER BELONGS TO GOD"!
When trouble arises and the opportunity to be afraid sticks out it's ugly head, I turn to the Lord my God in faith because I know that the Lord my God is ALL POWERFUL and that no battle is too hard for Him to fight on my behalf. I am daily learning to trust, lean and depend on God for everything!
We are reminded on today that "POWER BELONGS TO GOD", therefore, we can rest right there knowing that God is a very present help in trouble.
POWER BELONGS TO GOD AND NO ONE ELSE!
Do not fool yourself or allow yourself to be deceived into thinking that you got the power. As humans, we are limited in all things but God is MIGHTY AND POWERFUL in all EVERYTHING!
God has spoken once and TWICE I have heard.
Let these words impregnate your spirit on today.
