Psalm 121:1-8 I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who guards Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your guardian; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not harm you during the day, nor the moon during the night.
7 The Lord shall protect you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from now and for evermore.
The Psalmist declares that because the Lord God is the creator of both heaven and earth, unlike man and a reliable source of help, he will lift his eyes up to heaven with faith, trust and hope in who God is.
The psalmist goes on to describe God as a protector, shield and preserver who neither sleeps nor slumber but watches over him both day and night and for evermore.
Life often throws all kinds of things at us but we are reminded in this text that we can face them all with confidence of God's ever presence and protection because He promises to never leave us or forsake us.
The Lord our God never grows weary. He assures us through our past experiences of who He is so we can rest in His peace and presence because He alone personally watches over those that belongs to Him.
Psalm 34:15-The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.
Thank You Lord for being God in the lives of your people. Thank You for being our shade in the heat of life's issue.
Father, we thank You for being our helper, our protector and a keeper of your people in all things of life.
