Romans 8:35-39 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, 39 neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Apostle Paul reminds and assures us on today that nothing we go through in this life can separate us from Gods’ love, not even persecution of all kind.
The Apostle Paul said for I am persuaded that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Why was Paul so convinced that he could never be separated from God?
When the Apostle Paul wrote the above verses he had been and was currently facing exhausting persecution and testing of his faith. He had suffered rejection, attempted murder on his life, stoning, shipwrecked, bitten by a snake that did not kill him, He had spent many months of his life in an isolated prison cell, he had received many death threats and on and on with one attempt after another to see him dead by his enemies.
Talk about pain and suffering, the Apostle Paul knew it firsthand. He suffered things that seemed unbearable and unthinkable at times, but yet he was confident that God was with Him and He endured them all with the help of God’s Holy Spirit.
Apostle Paul was at a place in his faith that regardless of what He went though, he believed that God allowed it for a reason and God was always with Him in everyone of those painful, unbearable experiences.
Romans 8:28-And we know that all things work together for the good of them that love God; them that are the called according to His purpose.
Regardless of what people or the circumstances of life did to him, Paul had discovered an absolute truth in the fact that regardless of what happens to him in this life it did not have the power to separate him from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
Apostle Paul suffered many extremely unpleasant and terrible things for the sake of the Gospel.
What about us Have we and are we still suffering for the sake of the Gospel? Like the Apostle Paul, are you persuaded that God’s love is forever present with you in the midst of them all?
I am persuaded of God’s love and His ever presence with me for I have suffered greatly mentally and emotionally and I have seen the hands of God work in situations that I thought was gonna kill me, but I am yet here today to testify of the goodness of God too.
One truth I have discovered on this Christian journey is if you live for Christ, you WILL suffer. There is no way around it! Jesus suffered and guess what? You will suffer too!
We are reminded by Paul of this in 2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
People of God, being a Christian does not mean immunity from test, trials and suffering. If we could be honest for a moment, it means you are a direct target for persecution.
The Apostle Paul could boldly confess God’s ever presence with Him because Paul personally knew and experienced God's love. Paul knew that regardless of life’s circumstances that God’s love for him was never ending.
People of God we have an assurance on today of God’s love for us. He proved it through the death of His Son Jesus on the Cross over 2k years ago.
Let’s listen to vs #32- God who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
There is nothing greater God could have done to prove to us that He is for us. We know that God will freely give us all things and proof of that is seen n the giving of His Son as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
Father we thank you for your never ending, ever presence love towards your people.
I too am persuaded of God’s ever presence Love on today. It is you Lord that have kept me through the fiery furnaces, ditches and trenches of pain and suffering in my life and I know without a doubt that it is you that is still with me on today and I thank you, I praise you and I give you glory and honor for you alone are my God.
Lord, I have seen your hands work and move in situations that appeared to be no way out of and you paved a way for me to not only get out of them, but to deliver me from them all. THANK YOU LORD!
People of God where are you in your faith in God? Are you suffering and in great distress due to the test and trials of life?
Where have you been convinced that God is in your suffering? His Word declares that He is with you and that He will never leave nor forsake you.
Numbers 23:19-God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Never alone! Do you believe what God says concerning you?
I believe God!
Bless you all on today.
